Oh-KE Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 Hey, I reckon paint your grill all white (option number 3) white looks good with the red car and matches the white theme you have. A bit different too? Then paint the windscreen trims white too :bash: if they are faded that is.... Anyway it will look good with black too.. but not AS good haha Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted June 4, 2009 Report Posted June 4, 2009 IMO anything but black will look cheap and tacky satin black! Quote

DouggehKE30 Posted August 24, 2009 Author Report Posted August 24, 2009 I hav not updated in a wile and i am in the mood for it, but is pooring down at the moment, so no pictures of the new grill. (i do have a waterproof camera, but i don't want to get wet :y:) I went with Gloss back btw. So pictures that i took a wile ago..... I realised when it rained i got water in the cabin, and sourced it to the vent canal (whatever the name is). Had a looksi in there and it was full of leaves and dirt :/ And there was a nice hole. So i cleaned it out and for a quick fix i covered the vent. When i had the time to fix the hole, I cleaned it up, and it twas a bit bigger then i thought. So i was thinking about how i was going to fix the hole, bog, weld a plate..? So i was going to make a template out of a tin can and bend up a metal plate from the template. But then i thought i could just glass the can and stick that there :) stuck it in with marine grade sealent, so it is not goin anywhere :bash: mm, no more leakys : D Quote
DouggehKE30 Posted August 25, 2009 Author Report Posted August 25, 2009 My new grilll, well painted old grill. Verry happy with it. :P Gloss black, didnt paint the plastic/chrome insert in the middle so it looks white. I removed the top insert but doing so destroyed it :sob: Anoying as i have a spare Middle insert :( Also, decided i would take the left hand guard off to replare the rust that look liked it was coming through and remove the dirt back there. I got a surprise, there was half a bucket of dirt and leaves to start. Then i had a looked at the guard, i thought it would be about 50c piece size.....i was wront :( Seems like it had been repaired before, but not the best.. So now i am using a Panel off Ryan (SLO 030) thanks mate. Colour matches good hay :P So now looking for a decent panel to replace it with or a good bottem half to repair the other one. Quote
charl Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 when i was building my old ke20 i needed replacement front quarters too and i got brand new ones from AP Panel house in sydney. they have an office somewhere here in adelaide and i paid 175 bucks for 2 front quarter panels freighted from sydney to their depot here. might be worth looking into... 67Rolla-Ken Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 Wow thats a good price Charl, how long ago? Quote
JiP Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 Hey mate that vent rust problem is pretty common. They fill up with leaves but are hard to clear out, so they end up rusting through. Quote
