Yes, i know its a public forum where things are put up for discussion but I'm seriously tired of people calling it a waste of time. Yes, to some of you it is. But i enjoy it and thats all that matters.

So please, if your just gonna sit there and call it a waste of time, money etc. please keep your comments to yourself.

Thanks mate just the stuff i need to get me motivated again. :) Haven't go access to the car this week but hopefully i can use this time to follow up a few leads on a powerplant. just paid off my 2nd fine so i'll let the bank recover again and hopefully get stuck into once again.

Dude, if you need a motor and trans, why don't you ask me?

I deal with a shitload of mechanics on a daily basis. I'm sure I could find you something cheap :)

Yes Tom because your stock AE71 is going to pull skids just like this will when its built

Most people don't care what the car is worth when finished. Part of building a car is knowing you won't get back what you spent. I think the enjoyment Ryan will have when its built will outway how much the shell will be worth when stripped of parts

Cheers, Ben.

Very fair point.

Yes this is not what some people would chose to build but after all it is his car.

All these replies are just choking up the thread more (including this one).

Do what you want to do with it and enjoy it. Cars should be for the passion and enjoyment not as an investment.

Got my harnesses about a week ago. Just need to pinch some steel bar and plate from work to make up a C-pillar to C-pillar brace, to which i can attatch the harnesses properly. At the moment i have both shoulder straps going back to the rear seatbelt mount on the parcel shelf and I'm sure its not a real good idea. Might be alright but looks friggen dodgey.

Tryed them on and all i can say is i now wanna ditch the seatbelts in my ute for some harnesses.
