hi guys my names harvie from vic,

 

ill start from when i first bought my ke17 sprinter sl,

i bought it 17 years ago as a cheap bomb to get around in and only paid about $1000 for it.

i drove as a standard car for about 2 years then i just fell in love with it so i decided to

paint it in kenworth stock white as i was a truckie and had access to some cheap paint.

then i gathered some parts to build a 5k with a 5 speed

so i did a cheap build just to get it to move just that little bit quicker.

so now the time has come to stop playing around with the cheap stuff and so now I'm thinking about a

4agze t50 and a shortened hilux diff but may need help with motor details i know I'm after a bit more than just 100rwkw

so might need help finding all of these parts

so that will do for now guys ill leave you with a few pics let me know what you think.

just started on the leather seats.

I am not sure how many of these things would be in aus, espesually in that condition.

just my 2c but, since it is kinda rare, wouldnt you want to keep it a stocko?

But it is compleatly up to you, and a 4agze would be apsolutly nuts in that...i would want it still :hmm:

Any way its a beauty of a car, no matter what you do with it.

Just turbo a 5k if you need more power. A couple of guys have made 140+rwkw with them.

 

With the 4agze, you are going to be cutting, hacking, plus at the end of the day it will be a prick to work on. Not to mention destroying the originality of what is a very rare car.

 

Anyway it is your car, do what you want.

Can someone confirm that this would be able to get complied, the way i read the rules you can fit a factory turbo motor but if you turbo an na motor you have to get it emission tested which costs a fortune, at least check with a engineer first. it's no good saying someones got one through cos i think you'll find it's getting tougher ?????

I'm with Felix. Turbo the 5k, you've already got a 5 speed and maybe look at upgrading the diff. Will be much cheaper than any 4a conversion.

 

Cars to look at would be my "Tar" Project, Madrolla68's ke10, kickn5k's supercharged 5k in a ke11 (IIRC) and if you want as close as you can get check out Loupee's ke17 with a turbo 5k running only gas. :hmm:

nothing is chisled in rock yet, plus i have no intensions of selling the car, I'm leaving the motor for last so still got a bit of time to make my last decision then. first brake upgrade finish the leather seats and suspension

harvie cool car. i had the ke10 at the rollaclub cruise starting in dandenong last year and we had a chat. i have just picked up a ke15. hope it looks as good as yours one day!

 

least i think it was you i was talking to anyways :P

yeh i remember didnt you have the ke10 green in colour and you mentioned you had the rear louvre made by someone local. ????? by da way, congrats on da 15. it feels good having a rare ride. looking forward to da next meet or cruise.......

Yes that was me. Louvre came from a guy on ebay. Doesnt make them for a 15 though unfortunately.

yeh so i found out 2day a place called autocable .com.au only go back as far as ke25 . if a sprinter could get to da factory in adelaide for a mesure up we could all enjoy ....
