dfunkt Posted December 17, 2009 Author Report Posted December 17, 2009 they did the best they could with the paint, there's still a few marks, but given the age and it sitting covered in filth, it's 1000% better! the ke10 was sitting outside in the carpark when i went in on wednesday night. they said the crown has pushed it outside, haha. but yes, it does live in the TMCAL warehouses. i'll grab some more pics for you next week if it's still on show dave. are you busy next tuesday morning?? you might get to see it in the flesh if you want. Chobis Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 What a great story this car is. Now it's been displayed at a Toyota 50th Anniversary! That is brilliant. You should be proud as punch mate. I would LOVE to see pics of the rest of the cars that were displayed. The classics I mean. If you have any or access to any as you mentioned above, perhaps start a new thread somewhere with them? And a link here to the thread would be great so I don't miss it :locked: Your Crown RULES !!!! EDIT: adam beat me to it......Hey, shouldn't you be playing meccano with a certain celica??! Edited December 17, 2009 by dfunkt Quote

dfunkt Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 long time, no post. not much has happened with the crown. drove it to Hay for chrissy, was a bit bumpy between deni and hay :jamie: possible speed related.... there's a local show the first week in feb, so will give it a buff on the satday and then try and keep it spotless for picnic at hanging rock the following week. hope to see others get their classics out for the picnic! dF Quote
Chobis Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Sounds good. I've seen photos from that show before. Some awesome stuff usually shows up. Make sure you post up some pics of the cool old skoolers that turn out. not just the Rolla's/Toyota's. :jamie: Quote
dfunkt Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 if i had room for 2000+ pics i would :y: last year i didn't even get around everything in 4hours :jamie: i'll try and remember to take full car pics, as opposed to just arty/engine pics like last yr..... Quote
silverra23 Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 maybe we should split up and try and cover the field :jamie: still getting grief about going... not only is it valentines day but its also the st kilda festival... which to me means steer well clear of the farken place but apparently i have it all wrong in my approacH! Quote
dfunkt Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 ahhh, the st kilda festival...... 1. GTFO! (and stay the hell away) or 2. dress up in (very) tight clothes of the opposite sex and pose every 15 steps, or on every corner, whichever comes first. Quote
TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 maybe I could make up the wagons petrol money at stkilda fest then :jamie: You had better get that boot polished on the crown chief, needs to look its best for maddingly! ... and hanging rock... just keep that bloody cat off the boot! dfunkt Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 gee, haven't i been a big slacker....7 months between drinks isn't too bad i spose :? anyway, the heater core shat itself a few months back, and i injured myself not long after, so old whaley hasn't seen too much road time recently. she did get out to the arthur's seat/sorrento RC cruise the other week, which was her first proper drive in about 3 months :( and back to the heater core, dropped it off on thursday morning to get the radiator place to remove the old one, make a new one and then put it all back together again.....b/c of my injury i can't use my right hand atm :D got a call this morning to say they're having troubles putting it back and getting it working. turns out the heater tap is stuck closed, and one of the cables has unrouted itself and isn't working. so they're having a go at fixing it all and getting it back together on monday. hopefully the heater tap unsticks itself over the weekend while soaking in deisel. else i'll be off to find a replacement. Parrot, or anyone else who goes wrecker hunting this weekend, if you find any crowns from MS5X thru to (and including) the MS11X series, can you grab the heater tap just incase i need one?? thanks! dF out. Bamboo Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 df, I think we all go wrecker hunting. Any clue on what it looks like and where it sits? I'm off to centre road tomorrow to hunt pulsar parts. Quote
