JiP Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 Looks good, tho a little more 4wd spec ;) Quote
towe001 Posted January 3, 2010 Author Report Posted January 3, 2010 Took it for a spin around the block last night to see how the brakes and suspension went and the only problem it has is a slight pull to the left so when i can i'll be doing a DIY wheel alignment on it. But as i was cleaning up my mess in the garage i noticed that the front end looks as if its come down a bit. Still sitting up but not as much. Quote
towe001 Posted January 8, 2010 Author Report Posted January 8, 2010 Had to get new rego plates for the car today - the old ones had been classed as illegal cause of having the numbers/letters retouched with paint. I was wanting to keep the original white on black plates but the girlfriend couldn't/wouldn't justify the extra cost :lolcry: Quote
JiP Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Extra cost? isn't it like an extra $15 or something? Quote
towe001 Posted January 8, 2010 Author Report Posted January 8, 2010 Nar 30 bucks for new plates and $80 plus to keep the original plates - their classed as "custom" plates cause of having to be stamped and all that crap. Quote
towe001 Posted January 16, 2010 Author Report Posted January 16, 2010 Well, spent the afternoon renewing the steering gear (pitman, idler arms, ball joints) and now, for_some_god_knows_reason_why, the steering wheel is off centre. Before i swapped the steering wheels over i centred the original before swapping it for the sports so its got me why its off centre, i still get lock to lock on the steering arms but. Its close to a quarter of a turn, the bottom spoke of the wheel points to the drivers door downwards a bit. Meh, i'll re-centre the thing tomorrow and see how it goes. One of best investments that was ever given to me from a previous place of employment I just wish the stoopid thing would stop fogging up after about 10 minutes of laying on my back looking up at the cars junk. Nice Been wondering the idea of filling in the space between the speakers with something. I've had the idea of something old badge style Quote
towe001 Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 Not much of an up date at the moment but... And something that i've been mucking on Been toying with the idea of a couple of gauges where the pocket is above the radio. Like the TE37 style Quote
towe001 Posted February 7, 2010 Author Report Posted February 7, 2010 Done For some reason the volt gauge has clouded up. So i might have to get a new one and i want to swap the temp gauge for one in celsius. Next on the list is tacho and vacuum gauge. Toying with the idea of an aftermarket fuel gauge where the clock is and the tacho where the fuel/temp combo is, just would have to figure out with the warning lights and where to place them. Quote
JiP Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 Sweet as man. She's coming along great!! Quote
towe001 Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 Installed a vacuum gauge over the weekend. Tow ball cover and a bit of aluminium And fitted the speedo from a ke50 Next instalment will be tacho and hopefully some nolathane bushes. If the f@$kers ever leave brisbane. Went into autobarn on saturday to see if they were in and found out they've been sitting at the brisbane depot for about a week or so.... Quote
JiP Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Did they try to stick you with the freight charge? Cause if they did yell and scream Quote
towe001 Posted February 23, 2010 Author Report Posted February 23, 2010 Nar, i think it might have been cause i got stuffed around a little bit with it all. They've done it a couple of other times but haven't been all that worried about. But any ways, Amber (the other half) went into autobarn today to check up on how it was all going and about an hour or so later got a call to say they've come in. The kit "47112" i almost felt like having an argument over. Tried telling the guy i needed two (2) kits, "but in the book it only says one kit is needed". So now i'm right and it looks like a trip back to the 'barn to order the second kit. Oh well its getting there Quote
Kid-Ae Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Goes to show the customer is always right! This thing is so cool, i'd sit out the back all day and just stare at it because its such a gem :P Quote
Johno Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Nice 30 bud :lolcry: I don't know what it is but this rolla has some real character. I like the work you did on the rear parcel shelf, looks real neat  Keep up the good work mate Quote
