greenmac80 Posted April 19, 2010 Author Report Posted April 19, 2010 ok so another night hard at it. Â g/box is out and tailshaft. Â engine bay is as stripped as its gonna get. onlt thing left are brake lines and master cyl. Â started cleaning it with some Duthin and man o man its gonna take some scrubbin. (by the way duthin is industrial grade thinners.) Â but it still takes ages. Quote

greenmac80 Posted April 20, 2010 Author Report Posted April 20, 2010 cheers man. i do but don't lol. engine was out so why not?? Â wait a couple of months to see what in store for it later.!! Â bit of an update on my front suspension,. i used ra40 power steering arms on the mx62 struts. but i put the left one on the right and vice versa. Â this created a funny angle for the tie rods but once i'd lowered it, i was alright. kinda. this coupled with the camber tops gave me -1.5 degrees camber and quite an increase of track,. Â last wkend i installed short stroke shocks from a st185 gt4 celica. (made a spacer for the bottom of the strut) and lowered it down again. swapped the steering arms back to how they're meant to be. Â this provided a much nicer angle for the tie rods and balljoints. Â but..... even with the cambertops i still now have +2 degrees camber. horrible. Â so now i'll be getting some skidma control arms to bring this back in check. Â so for anyone out there i would say stay away from the cressida strut in a ke as a brake upgrade. the kingpin angle is just wrong. unless your gonna run coilovers. Â cheers, Luc Quote
greenmac80 Posted April 21, 2010 Author Report Posted April 21, 2010 taz? i'm confuzzled... i wasn't going to leave it in cos you can't paint around it. the MC is the pajero one. so it kinda just sat there outta the way.  so today was a hard day  painted the bay in vitrethane 2 pack urethane enamel. this shit is great to work with and is designed to put up with high heat. and has adhesion like nothing else.  anways pics.  and the 4k is in. so its had a new head gasket and VSS. a good clean and a new rear main oil seal. also has been mated up to a 5 speed with a near new clutch.  pics  and here jasol (bmxsexmonkey) big thanks for the help. get this guy started ad he works like a man on a mission.  Quote
