irokin Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 OK guys, for the past few days Ive been working on my new head. I'm porting it myself first...before any other work happens so that if I breach the port walls I havent lost $200 on spring and valve work. Ive been using my "dremel" I picked up from supercheap for $39 My advice is don't waste your money on these. Spend over $100 and get yourself a decent die grinder. Mine overheats frequently and has other issues...such as bearing shake (have to hold the case so that it doesnt vibrate and loose rpm. Just spend the extra money and get it right the first time!! Medicine_Man Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 Point taken, i'll invest in a dremel one of these days.. Quote
demuire Posted January 19, 2004 Report Posted January 19, 2004 I've got one of these too, and yes don't bother with them, they're shit. Good for small jobs here and there but they do overheat and they have no torque which makes it hard to do anything because it loses speed the moment you start doing anything... I've even given up trying to polish anything with it... Also make sure that flex extension is sort of straight, if it is kinked in anyway it heats up REAL quick! Quote
demuire Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Nah, why go a dremel when you can just get a proper air-powered die grinder? :) After watching Rob go through my gearbox crossmember, I'm sold :D Quote
irokin Posted January 20, 2004 Author Report Posted January 20, 2004 Mmmm Die grinder :D Screw that, I need an Espresso machine before I get a die grinder :) hehe...Ive got one... cept I went back to instant...too much f@$king around Quote
blown 5k Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 I use a dremel its pretty good better than an air grinder. :D Quote
Ruts Posted January 21, 2004 Report Posted January 21, 2004 mmmmmmm espresso, or lattè for me .... any takers - my machine cost more than my rego - is that a bad sign ??? Quote
