  1. This is doable with a little grinding.
  2. Hello Si, Mery Christmas and a happy new year to you cousin ;)
  3. I can't seem to be able to send pm`s no idea why cheers
  4. don't hold your breath he never finsihed it then sold it.
  5. Haha calm down or i may have to get my supercharged "shoebox" out and dust off the cobwebs and beat you into the 12s :jamie:
  6. Well i guess you`ll just have to figure that out. :jamie: http://www.club-k.co.nz/Full024.htm
  7. Oh yes i do realise that, dunno why you guys are so slow, must be all that hot air you spout out making the air density a bit low :sob: I`ll see if i can get a video clip or a time slip at a 1/4 with the new car show you i`m not full of S#%t,by that time i`m sure madrolla will be well down in the 13s or into the 12s.
  8. Ahh well they do,the new n/a 1580cc should definately be in the 13s. :)
  9. Beats me what you fellas are doing wrong lol,my 1430cc 3k would probably do a really low 14 these days it did a 14.55 when it was a leanover engine and i can mow my mates 4k down in a straight line around the circuit so yeah maybe a 14 flat. Well Taz_rx from the power figures i`ve seen you quote that 1290cc n/a 4k is making quite a bit more power than your car in a lighter bodied car.
  10. Good stuff,i knew i should have taken a video clip of my mates 1290cc n/a kp doing the 14.38 1/4 nothing like video evidence aye.
  11. There is a tonne of room underneath the crankshaft and rods i really don't know why toyota made the sump that deep in that area, cutting the sump is a far easier option than modifying a crossmember.
  12. can't seem to send a pm to you madrolla68 but i accept your offer for the bellhousing e-mail me your postal address so i can get you a freight price. If an admin could check my pm settings for me that would be much appreciated. Oh yeah a mate of mine did a 14.38 1/4 in the w/e with his uprighted 4k 1290cc kp i built for him if that`s eligable for your 1/4 mile times cheers.
  13. Mine fitted into my kp by using the 7k mounts, then i cut the sump to suit.
  14. 2" exhaust is fine for the power output you`ll probably be making, loop over the inlet pipe over the top of the supercharger towards the drivers side headlight area, injectors too small for any boost at all mine ran out of duty cycle as soon as it was flat on n/a let alone came on boost, throttle bodies pretty small on them for sure so an upgrade wouldnt hurt on mine i built a new inlet manifold because i didnt like the 4k-e design and thought it was pretty restrictive. Throttle body has to go in front of the charger or you had better have a solenoid cut as soon as you get off the throttle or you`ll stall the blower/engine because it will try and boost against the throttle plate and boost will go ballistic very quickly, blow off valves sound absolutely horrible on them so don't go there. Ecu get a link, don't muck around trying to use a standard ecu you`re wasting your time or get a different aftermarket ecu.
  15. Here`s mine that i installed last year.
  16. K to T bellhousings came out in ke35-msp in the states they are cable operated and the bellhousings to have unfortuanately they are quite rare,ke74 and kt147 and are hydraulic. I have a spare k to t ke74 bellhousing if someone waves enough money under my nose i will sell.
  17. Ok i`ve only skim read this thread so shoot me if I'm wrong but the compression heights on 4age pistons is way to low to consider using and as to why anyone would use such a damn heavy piston is beyond me same goes for the rods why fit a heavy rod if the standard ones do the job?i really don't understand the point of adding to the reciprocating mass then reving it and then proceed to blow the maincaps out of the bottom of the engine. Standard rods over here in race spec 4k engines ie 4mm overbored forged pistons will run endurance races(multiple one hour races) without giving trouble,if it aint broke don't fix it! :P
  18. Well i beg to differ about there only being 1 set of rods for 5ks i pulled an early 5k engine to bits and it had the light rods. As for trusting what Burtie says good luck with that one :)
  19. A camshaft profile running on two dissimilar lifter diameters has exactly the same timing specifications regaurdless. Closing up the valve clearances has a minimal effect on performance probably more detrimental than anything else.
  20. Cool :P i just put 3.583 final drive ratio in as well cause it was a bit low geared on 195/45/14s with the 3.909.Hows the throttle postion sensor/air flow meter?
  21. 1g-e rods crossreference part numbers to 4k/5k rods although there is some production changes in the rods from what i`ve seen.1g-gte and 1g-gze both have different part numbers. can't say ive had any problems with my supercharged 5k running 12 pounds boost.
  22. I`ve got a couple of k50 boxs in bits at the moment and they have a K cast in to the front bearing retainer and have 56 stamped in so go figure on that one :y: i also went down to the toyota dealer (200 mtrs from my work)and harrased them on there cd rom for quite a while searching and crossreferencing the bottom cluster/layshaft and there wasnt any differences really apart from one that did specify different teeth numbers... but it also said it`d fit into a t37 box going off cross reference which is bollicks because they only had t series boxs (we checked) we also couldnt find any reference to k51 52 or 61 only listed as k50 so i`m floating the idea that the number stamped into the front housing doesnt actually refer to the transmission number. Also a while back i did some hunting on their cd rom (yes they love me ... not!)and if you want a K to T series transmission with a cable clutch here is the model you need to keep an eye out for ke35-msb with a 3k-b engine 74-08/76-06 part number for the bellhousing is 31111-12010. In regaurds to k series boxs like i said there were several different options of gear ratios 2.7 to 1 was the lowest i believe when i get some more time i`ll post up the gear ratios as i`ve pretty much got every trd/tosco manual known to man ahhh the joys of being an ex toyota dealer :D
  23. Aussies didnt get starlets dude, where is the"k51" "k52" "k61" etc stamped on the housing can't say i`ve ever seen it before, the way i read what your saying is the k61 is closer ratio....but it wont be a trd type ratio as trd ratios are way taller in 1st gear then stacked in close after that 2.7 or so 1st gear is one ratio 2.3 is another and 2 to 1 or there abouts was option one ratio first,.89 is 5th trd ratio .86 std.
  24. Or carry out a cylinder leakage test that will tell you,it`ll be rings though blowby at low engine speeds is quite normal.
  25. Just to keep the rockers in there correct postion thats all.
