  1. Yeah stuff all only about 1.5cc 1g rods fit we`ve used them for years but they`re identical to late k rods all good :D
  2. You`ll find 1ggte pistons will fit alright as Mr Revhead has said i`m guessing the person he`s refering to is Matt Dunn.I don't believe that 1ggte rods are any different to that of late normal k series rods perhaps Mr Revhead can do a part number crossreference.1ge pistons have the valve cutouts the wrong way around to suit k series but thats no biggy, you cannot turn the pistons the other way round as the pins are offset on them yes pins are 18mm.1g pistons are std 75mm bore same as 4k.Like someone said earlier build a n/a motor lots easier wont hole pistons when you get something wrong unless you really screw up,or build a strong 5k plenty of torque when built correctly.
  3. Where...where? :D Where to start the engine was built in 1999 its got 3 different options of blower drive speeds 7% underdriven,13% and 22% overdriven its got a link efi setup with custom manifolds made by me 4age (250cc injectors i think...its been a while),kelford fast street grind cam with lobe seperation to suit supercharger,10.5 pound flywheel, ported big valve head 9 to 1 compression ratio at the moment its running about 12 pounds boost thats about it if you`ve got a question just ask. :D
  4. Yeah thats whats on mine sc14. :D
  5. I second that send $10 my way :) $1500 should get you well and truely on your way to a quick 5k i`m going to build an uprighted 5k for my daily driver on weber 40dhlas that i picked up for $180 nz (matched pair)i reckon it`ll cost me about $1200 to do the entire job,but i can do all the work myself including the cylinder head porting/flowbench work.I wouldnt worry about balancing the crank unless you plan on spinning it over 6500-7000 rpm a lot as factory balance isnt too bad(saves you some coin) just balance your pistons at build on a decent set of digital scales. :D
  6. My moneys on a mitsy box or a mazda box,i see its a sandwich plate box and yeah it looks like its hydraulic as irokin has already pointed out. :D
  7. My daily driver 4k is running more static advance than std and more total with a quicker advance curve than std...no detonation...no problems all on nz 91 ulp, maybe our fuels better quaility.
  8. ;) Teddy will have to have a very good telephoto lens on his camera to get picts :lovin: 250ks south of Phils. =)
  9. Yowl not really a Rolla but if you can handle cruising with a supercharged 5k injected kp starly sometime givas a yell =)
  10. Oh Oh more :insane: from over the ditch :D
  11. Big thread this took a while too read through it all, interesting the valve sizes listed by superjamie not the same size as any k series engine i have ever pulled to bits but maybe i can't read my calipers :). Desktop dyno yes you wont get anywhere near the power figures that that program will spit out at you. 5ks have two different size lifter diameters depending on which model of 5k engine it is. T series bellhousings to k-series engines, while most a hydraulic as suggested there is a cable operated clutch bellhousing available and gearbox to suit that will bolt straight into the ke30 type floorpan. Supercharged 5ks yeah they go alright beat a full on n/a motor anyday :S
  12. Theres two different bellhousings for a k series engine to t series box that i know about.
  13. Don`t forget to get the right stud pattern or pcd on your new mags or they obviously wont bolt on :D In reguards to tyres the wear ratings is a good indication of how soft it is and how much grip it has.For example my tyres have a wear rating of 40 :Þ but this means while they will hook up good they will wear out 7 times faster than a tyre with a wear rating of 280.
  14. All the ke70s over here in nz have rack & pinion steering,nz new ones at least. :D
  15. Why not use a k50 from behind a 3a cable clutch ie no extra mastercylinder/slave required. Its only a k series box so not as strong as a t but alot easier to install(are these available over there?). We had one in a starlet once and its still going must have done mega ks now we did 100,000ks in it and it was a secondhand jap import 4a k50 combo.
  16. Highest i got too was 593 on the bounce,but someone got 593.4 on club-k grrr :D
  17. Give this one a go :Dpenguin bashing
  18. I use a dremel its pretty good better than an air grinder. :D
  19. i gave one away the other day :D
  20. Boring and sleeving dunno worth a go whos keen?or just keep the rpm ceiling down and put a rolla turbo on the side hullo 200 +hp :) :D
  21. Yip NEW i have a mate in japan thats what he says they cost freight from japan i don't know, how is your customs for duty in aus? :D
  22. What about adapting a ae86 rear end T code 6.7" heaps of cars racing over here running them lsd as well std but theres also a heap of aftermarket diff options on the lsd in japan as ae86 is still a cult car over there eg cusco 2way lsd $800 nz $s.
  23. yep thats the full monty std bore diameter 4k 160hp @9500rpm! :D
