Hey all just wondering what power outputs have people had going through a T50 and open wheeler T series diff before they ran into issues?

 

or roughly what the limits would be.

Depends on how nasty you are to it.

....and how knackered or fresh the stuff is to start with.

 

Mate of mine just blew 2nd gear out of a 22 spline. Took 20+psi in a 20v hybrid motor mind you.

T50 is only 'supposed' to withstand 200hp but depends on the weight of car and how it is treated, you can brace the box together to stop it blowing apart.

Diff and T50 are in my TA22, will be used as a daily and for a few spirited drives, lookin at a 3SGE with a bit of work done to it, any ideas for box upgrades then, W58?

Different box again, Dunno what the strength differences are but the early T50 is a 20 spline, Grab the box out of an ST corona.

try w55 after t50 if it breaks

Hell to the no! score a J160... I've seen them around for the $300 mark, which is pretty cheap considering. It'll bolt up to your 3SGE and fits the same spline as the W55. I've heard rumour they are even the same length.

Is the J160 Or W55 around the same lenght as the T50?
