I remember looking on A kaaz website and going into the corolla part of said webstie, bam there it was kazz lsd for ke70 corolla i'm trying to find said website now, so everybody that has ever wanted something other than a welded diff in there 70 can buy one and get it happening :D

Where do you live ?

If you want to bring it down to langwarrin vic I can mig it up for you.

If your interstate sus out the local speedway club as its compulusory for us to run a locked diff.

They should put you on to someone who can help.

Also

If your running on the street don't do it, I havn't locked up my daily driver, only the race car runs the locked diff.

was it new or second hand? they used to make one a long time ago (early 90's?) pretty rare to find one nowadays

Don't most ke70's have aussie borg warner diffs in them?

 

I'd imagine your kaaz one would have been to suit a jap diff housing.

Yeah it was only like less than a year ago that i saw it, point being kaaz has and can make them for you, and even if you want a mini spool for your car call a diff shop and give them the number of splines, i have seen spools advertised in some car mags that make 23spline or 25 spline (i think ke70's are) minispools if you would like i can find the magazine add and take a photo if you don't believe me

You can just about make any diff fit in any car, its just the matter of time and money youre willing to spend, as for the 2ways I'm sure they are getting more commen in the e70/71 area, as i know for a fact my mate is running a kaaz 2way in his 70 at the moment. cost him $1800 supplied and fitted about a year ago.

 

OT; Anyways mate, 55's are cool and all but if you want to learn to drift this is probably not the best optioned car for you, unless you just want to have some fun in the wet. In that case, go buy some lowering blocks and lowerd stiffend front springs and get some one to weld your diff up for you and pray for the rain :D

 

But on the other hand, i haven't herd of anyone that sells or makes minispools for 55s so your best bet like everyone on here is going to tell you, Pull it out and weld her up ;) doesnt matter if your not the best welder just make sure you put big welds on the spider gears ;)

4k drift in the dry? maybe don't lock the diff and use the handbrake! or fit a hydralic one

I can weld alright.

Used an R31 skyline diff, not shortened he said.

Just stiffen the rear and and only go out when its raining!

 

The diff only works to spin one wheel when you go into a corner slow enough to build up body roll. A quick flick & squirt and the tail lets go evenly and slides. Well it does on the KE70 going around traffic islands in the rain! :(

 

Leaf springs slide easier than a 5link coil.

I've said it before in a few other threads. Leaf springs can be made to perform VERY well. Some people just seem to dismiss them because they're an old setup.

Mates 26 slides easy in the wet, only mods to the back are blocks!
