One must also factor in the conditions of which the car is kept and/or driven around in :D

Do not forget the effect of the moon, wearing odd socks and dividing by zero.

This is another one of those "piece of string" questions... there is no correct answer!!

 

I personally hit small rust spots with rust converter untill I get a chance to fix them. If you do this your piece of string should be longer :D

If it's an Alfa or a Skoda, the time it takes inbetween the salesman showing you a pristine rust-free fresh-off-the-line model and when you said drive fresh-off-the-line model out of the carpark of the dealership.

 

So about 20 minutes, depending on how slow you are with the paperwork.
