Trev Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Why you gonna cut a ke70 in half? :lolcry: wanna go halves in a ke70? LOL? Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Looked into it for this years run, great concept, but the rules and regs they impose are ridiculous, I'd sooner do the drive solo or with a couple of mates for laughs. So basically, (for anyone real interested) look into it real careful before signing up. :glare: wanna go halfs on a ke70? LOL? Quote
altezzaclub Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Ah- you can only spend $1000 on your car and it costs $4250 to enter, and you donate the car to an auction at the end, whereupon you are stuck in Darwin or where-ever. There are a few of these running each year, I think they use charity sponsorship to get the Councils and Police onside. All seem to be great fun if you have up to 10grand to throw around. The Targa series would be the peak of them I'd say, entry in NZ is over $10k just to get to the start line. Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Add to all that; If you already own a shitbox and want to use it in the rally you will need to prove to us that it is worth what you say. If it is deemed to be worth more than $1,000 there will be a penalty – you do not want to find out what this is. If you get parts donated to you free of charge, the value of the parts is included in your $1,000. It is great that you are getting something for free, but the rules are very simple. $1,000 value for your car. In other words, if we think it's worth more than $1000 you're in the shit. At any time during the rally the rally director can buy your car from you for $1 and it is at the rally directors sole discretion what to do with it. Meaning, if you spend a lot more than the $1,000 budget allowed i.e. you cheat, we can take your car from you and you can walk home. Falls under the director discretion thing above, meaning not 100% accurate or consistent. Quote
altezzaclub Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 here's another one- Bit more of a rally, entry fee still up there a bit, $3750. http://www.classicoutbacktrial.com.au/cot/ Quote
