March 4, 201115 yr comment_507458 hey guys. just a question. i am going to redrill my crossmember on my ke20 to offset my lca for more camber. firstly, whose done it and how did it go? secondly will the tie rods have enough adjustment to compensate for the added length? and any thing else i should be aware of? cheers Report
March 4, 201115 yr comment_507463 That is THE dodgiest thing i've heard. That sounds as if it'd put a lot of unneccesary stress on the lca brackets. Do it properly and get camber tops Report

March 4, 201115 yr comment_507482 hey jono c it can if done right 10 mm adds 1 deg neg camber ask coln 72 camber tops are useless, ifyou have normal springs and not coil overs.tie rods should be ok with 2 deg neg camber. hope this helps cheers mick E Report
March 4, 201115 yr comment_507503 How are camber tops useless? A mate had otomoto diy strut tops on his ke55, with stock struts and could crank nearly -2deg And really as it's a road car would you want to have something snap and crash and quite possibly kill someone? Do it once, Do it right. Report
March 4, 201115 yr comment_507524 Agree with both of you. Problem in a KE20 however, is the minimal amount of room within the strut tower which means you can barely move the strut inwards before it hits the body. Camber tops really require a coilover setup, and if you go to that trouble, may as well swap over to AE86 struts. Report
March 4, 201115 yr Author comment_507534 ok, i probably should have clarified. the 20 is just my daily cruiser. stock, apart from very low n some painted up stockies. i just wanted the camber for looks. now i say that knowing fully that many of you will post saying how stupid that is but it is a tough look and I'm not going for performance, as I'm building another car. thanks for the comments tho cheers Report
March 4, 201115 yr comment_507544 What length are ke20 lca's? like 330mm or something arent they? you could get some cressida lower control arms mx62 is 355mm i think, so around 2 degrees camber Report

March 4, 201115 yr comment_507558 i'd imagine as they're longer your steering that connects to the lca would have to be lengthened, you might have enough adjustment in them to compensate though Report

Camber tops really require a coilover setup, and if you go to that trouble, may as well swap over to AE86 struts. same problem with the T3 camber tops, paid $300 for them. went to fit them and the spring hit the strut tower with 1mm of movement. got a refund and went and got my struts bent! Report
March 4, 201115 yr comment_507615 I also agree with you that adding camber for looks is stupid. That, in combination with bump steer induced by your making the front "very low" will likely end up with you wrapped around a power pole Report

March 5, 201115 yr comment_507784 OK, I have done this in the past, but it was a competition only car. The LCA's can be moved out by 25mm if you are prepared to go up a bit as well. This will change your front roll centre. Whether this is benificial to you, or you care, I don't know. Now, I felt this was benificial in my circumstances. Did not notice any bump steer or anything else ugly. Still had plenty of meat in the crossmember and if it was gonna tear out, I would of got it to do so :rolls: In my case, it handled a lot better, with much reduced understeer (was running a locker) and much more comfortable to drive. For a pic of what I did click here Report
