would be good for a cheep track day slider apart from that it makes the car handle shit

if its for street just go with the usual carby upgrade extractors and a tighe cam

save up and get a lsd if you can find one to fit

and thirded WHY???

Heath, you have a few options. Go to your local mechanic or welder and find someone to weld yours up, if done right and the centre is removed and all sides of the diff are welded correctly, then it should serve you well, I ran one with a fair bit of abuse (get your friend to kick you in the teeth kind of abuse) for over a year.

Minispools are your next option which are convenient and can be removed, if caught :fuzz: Or a detroit locker, but wouldn't reccommend that at all.

Then comes viscous LSD's which you could probably snag from an R31 or some other model of lsd'd vehicle, which can be cheap, but will need to be adjusted and tightened after a while which gets annoying. Mechanical LSD's are right on top, good control, reliablity and can come with adjustment... and they will also severely adjust your bank balance.

I'm speaking from driving one, weldies are inconvenient, make parking like licking door knobs, and if in the wrong hands can be very dangerous. If you want to be loose as a goose on the street though, that would be my suggestion, although highly illegal and insurance voiding.

Go to a track and skid... more fun.

Oh I forgot the Commodore option of doing so many roll backs that natural evolution takes over and your diff learns to lock itself.

It also then resents life and ejects itself from the vehicle...

For wet skidz, I'd say look into finding a mini spool, and maybe switching over to a 4.11 Borg Warner diff from an R31 Pinty, and get that spooled while its out. Should make car parks a bit nicer, but still lock when booted, and the ratio will give you decent response for having like -100hp :P

Your a f@$kstick if you drive on the road with one, I hope you crash into a very expensive car and void your insurance if you do, but not bad enough crash that anyone gets hurt.

But seriously don't do it like I said if you crash when your doing skids apparent "Legal" wet weather skids on a track and you cannot afford a LSD then I don't think you would have enough money to buy tow car, trailer ect. Sorry for sounding harsh but just don't do it.

ke70's have the huge flaw in that there are no LSD's available. ae86 stuff bolts in, but that has the huge flaw of being very expensive.....

the easiest solution is to get yourself a compelte diff/LSD from some importer (AE86 item) , prolly cost you 1200-1300bucks. but thats about the cheapest way to get an aftermarket LSD. and then hope that the monkey before you installed the LSD properly and it isnt stuffed.

ke70's are a cheap fun car to run, untill you start talking about LSD's. but then again an aftermarket 2-way for a skyline or something is just as expensive.

locked diffs sure are bad and all, but for a track car which is designed to be just a fun thrasher (drift days, not trying to shave 0.1sec off your lap time) are probably not a bad option. they do make you understeer, and they do try and resist the car from turning, weird feeling.

but for driving on the street, complete and utter pain in the ass. not to mention the legal side of it.

Oh- and from my many years of rallying I can tell you that you are far better spending $1000+ on an LSD than you are spendng it on rims and tyres... or a sound system... or coil-overs... If you don't have a grand for an LSD then you should be driving a stock car.
