Dan Posted December 23, 2005 Author Report Posted December 23, 2005 What happens when the springs uncompress? By rights they should fall out, but they havent yet... Got pulled over yesterday in the same car, let me tell you the copper didnt like the wires hanging out of the front tire (on the inside, f@$ked alignment) changed it quick smart to avoid a defect... Another dodgy mod is cutting out the frayed section of a seat belt to get over the pits, but of course we wouldn't do that :hammer: Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 You don't cut, you melt ....MELT Quote
Dan Posted December 23, 2005 Author Report Posted December 23, 2005 Hey, that would work.. will do, thanks for the idea! Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 Years of dodgy experience here!!! I once cable tied my elec fuel pump to my brakes under my car as a temp solution when I first put my SC on all those years ago, and about 4 years went by, then on a rego check after a defect, they failed me on it. I was like..oh yeah, forgot about that haha Quote
Dyzza Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 dodgiest mod hey ... the last guy who had my car for some reason decided to butcher a hole in the left guard and put in an aerial. When i got the car, there was no aerial there - just a ~25mm gaping, hacksawed hole, staring me in the face :y:. Makes me wonder why there is no aerial on the exterior driver's side pillar :hammer: Dyzza Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 because people are idiots. That is one of the best things about corolla's no annoying aerial hole in the guards/roof Quote
Super Jamie Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 Took it to QLD Transport and went for the roady and the guy asked him to put it in reverse (to test the reverse light) and when he did, he flipped the toggle and the reverse light came on believe it or not, this is actually a legal mod. mk2 escorts have a reverse light toggle switch, stock i haven't done anything too dodgy. unengineered ke70 brake upgrade on ke25 struts. springs held to bottom seats with cable ties beacuse they're not captive at full extension, even though that's not actually illegal either. non-adr-approved clear lights on my hilux. i've run wheel spacers before but who hasn't? hate the things i am most proud of the 114db exhaust on my ke25, legal limit being 96db, which passed roadworthy several years in a row, and survived several "random" breath tests, and even once getting pulled over slipping the ass out around a roundabout up in ormeau. queensland cops are so lazy, i love that state :hammer: Quote
Fayt Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 i havent really had any dodgy mods done..... ..... ..... .....once I put the wrong thermostat in my rolla..... ... ... ... ... yeah..... :hammer: Quote
Hokey Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 My mate went to get a roadworthy but his reverse switch on the gearbox wasn't working. Stupid Sigmas... He wired in a toggle switch for the reverse light Took it to QLD Transport and went for the roady and the guy asked him to put it in reverse (to test the reverse light) and when he did, he flipped the toggle and the reverse light came on He got the roadworthy :P My brother had same problem to and fixed up a wire so that when you put it in reverse the gearbox touched the wire and that earthed it and the lights came on. it lasted for about 6 months ;) My dads old volvo exhaust was stuffed so we ripped it out and drove it around for like a whole week till he could be bothered to get it fixed. F@#k it sounded like it had a huge v8 or something in it it was a wonder we didnt get pulled over. My frends xd faclcon had all his fuel linkages done with bandaids. It was the only thing he had in his glove bix at the time. : :hammer: Bah we drove around for a whole year on rego with the exhaust chopped open. nothing like the sound of an unmuffled K motor :y: Quote
Clown Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 POV CAI setup on subaru. Pod in bumper held up by cable ties, sitting above splash guard. Somehow cable ties broke/came loose and splash guard also fell down (forgot to put screws back in), this happend at 130KM/H, I didnt' realise for about 2k's or so, need less to say the splash guards now smaller then it should be and the pod was rooted from dragin along the ground. Ke50 Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 My mate went to get a roadworthy but his reverse switch on the gearbox wasn't working. Stupid Sigmas... He wired in a toggle switch for the reverse light Took it to QLD Transport and went for the roady and the guy asked him to put it in reverse (to test the reverse light) and when he did, he flipped the toggle and the reverse light came on He got the roadworthy :y: my car was passed with not reverse lights fullstop. or an exhaust tip. and the gear knob was loose. and the handbrake only goes up one click because its so tight :hammer: Quote
Fayt Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 my car passed without reverse lights.... when i got around to trying to fix it, they didnt work because,...... ... they werent pluged in.... easy fixed :hammer: Quote
Teddy Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 Ha, and to think they handed out factory warentys with Sv21's once a pon a time * L O L * Quote
love ke70 Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 the handbrake only goes up one click 20 bucks says your brakes are binding dodgy mods....ummm.....my rust repair job, not that bad, just shitty welding in plates and a good helping of bog :y: it wasnt a mod, but driving with no windows front or back side to side, no drivers door, no boot lid and no tail lights was a bit dodgy me thinks, or when i drove it for an hour with all the windows up but no boot lid or taillights....smell those exhaust gases hehe but really anything permanent i try not too dodge :hammer: Quote
Super Jamie Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 Bah we drove around for a whole year on rego with the exhaust chopped open. nothing like the sound of an unmuffled K motor :hammer: haha once matt's ke70 exhaust cracked and rusted out, so we got these ke30 extractors i had, and put them on, and they hit the firewall. so we welded a mandrel bend on there and got a straight bit of pipe onto it, but couldn't figure out the part over the diff cos we just didn't have that much pipe so he just drove it around with the exhaust ending under the passenger door. from lismore to toowoombah. and then around town and to work for a week. bahahaha Quote
