hello

before i get flamed ive searched the forums and google can't find anything that helps me.

all i want to know is what model sierra shocks you guys are running?

year, soft top or hardtop? etc.. the more info the better. I'm trying

to order a pair in but autobarn keep ringing me saying they don't know

which ones i want. also gabriel or munroe? they quoted me 100 each, is

that decent?

thanks in advance ^__^

Holden Commodore VK-VS Sedan rear shocks > Suzuki Sierra shocks.

Most people that I know of use commodore rear shocks and they were about half the price of the Sierra shocks last time I checked at Supercheap Auto. Also the Sierra shocks are too short to allow any decent droop according to about every thread on that topic that I have read on the internet. I'd get the VK-VS commodore rear shocks over the Sierra shocks, also if you want good ones get Koni, Bilstein, KYB AGX etc.

I had Sierras, they were win. Get whatever is cheapest. Gabriel should be fine.

From memory it's 1986-1992 Front shocks, can get them on eBay for around $140pair.

If you must get the sierras then get front shocks from a sierra/jimny. Most list Jimny not Sierra these days, however, you will have a low and unsafe car with next to no suspension travel and no droop, which just means when you're at the ragged edge you will skip off and lose contact with the road, which will mean you can't control the car and end up crashing. Popping the inside wheel into the air is a sign of a lack of droop, not a fast car. There is no substitute for quality dampers, and correctly wound springs, until you actually bother to get something decent sorted, you will never know.

Not for street use!!!!

what little redspirit said!^^

a member on here had a ksev with choppies and sierra shocks. it was dangerous! no droop. very twitchy and just wants to oversteer. (this was at 100kph :| )

rear end was rock solid. save your self $140 and just install metal tubing as shocks!

do NOT recommend them. go commodore wagon rear shocks

ive driven an 86 with VERY low springs and sierra shocks

absolute GARBAGE. not even for a drifto mobile....rubbish.

for springs around the 4-6kg range, on the cheap, i recommend the wagon commondore shocks (KYB part number 343113).

very good shock and a nice length, keeps the springs captive but allows for a good amount of suspension droop.

also check this out on ebay atm:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/used-Toyota-Corolla-KE70-AE86-Sprinter-Koni-Yellow-suspension-Struts-Brakes-/180785015990?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a17a06cb6

those konis are the good stuff, check the lengths etc, but they might be a bargain at that price, would need a rebuild though.

do i have to make a account to see the spreadsheet pyrohamish?

sounds perfect, stiff as. can't handle the body roll anymore

and the car is way to aggressive when i try to link corners.

that set up looks cheap and its close too, but can't wait for

rebuild :)

i just need to know the part number for gabriel of the exact

shock i need would make it easy!

thanks heaaps
