mhmills Posted January 25, 2012 Report Posted January 25, 2012 Hey guys need help identifying some loom plugs. I can't take/post pics at the moment as I'm on my mobile. The loom is, for lack off better knowledge uncut... For a 16v bluetop. Firstly, I have 4 plugs near the ecu, 2 yellow 1 white and 1 black. 1 yellow is a 14 pin plug. The other yellow is an 8 pin plug. The white one is 2 pin with just a white and black wire. The black one is a 10 pin one. Near the wiper motor plug I have 2 more plugs, a black 2 pin and a white 4 pin. I have a white 2 pin plug near the positive battery terminal. Looks like a giant round plug? Also near that is a single pin yellow plug. Near the a/c green plug I have a blue plug with light green plug with red and light green with black through it with red. Near the giant green igniter plug I have 2 plugs. A blue 2 pin and black single pin. Near the giant yellow dizzy plug I have another round yellow 2 pin plug... That's probably the easiest way to describe these plugs without listing each wire :( Sorry for technology failure. I know that Trev will probably be able to help out with this one :) All help is greatly appreciated!! Cheers, Jake. Quote

The other yellow is an 8 pin plug. The white one is 2 pin with just a white and black wire. The black one is a 10 pin one. Are you counting the pins used or the amount of locations the pins can have? 14 yellow will be the ecu 14 pn plug (yellow and not orange?) 10 yellow, I have not seen this before. 2 pin white sounds like the L/H kick panel wire. 10 pin black is for A/C IIRC and you don't need it plugged in. Near the wiper motor plug I have 2 more plugs, a black 2 pin and a white 4 pin. White 4 pin is for the wiper motor. Black 2 pin is the A/C idle up. I have a white 2 pin plug near the positive battery terminal. Looks like a giant round plug? Also near that is a single pin yellow plug. 2 pin white round is reverse lights. Single yellow is o2 sensor. Near the a/c green plug I have a blue plug with light green plug with red and light green with black through it with red. Near the giant green igniter plug I have 2 plugs. A blue 2 pin and black single pin. Near the giant yellow dizzy plug I have another round yellow 2 pin plug... These sound like they are in the same spot. Need more info on the GREEN A/C plug. Blue plug goes to the little black box on the coil. Single black pin is the oil pressure sensor. IIRC the round 2 pin is the A/C fan plug. That's probably the easiest way to describe these plugs without listing each wire :(Sorry for technology failure. Thanks Trev, I managed to get to a computer. I've uploaded pictures of all the plugs I'm curious about. I don't have this "little black box" off the coil... Also that green A/C plug is near that blue plug and I was told it was A/C related and unneeded. Cheers, Jake. Quote

Cheers, Jake. ok. 1st pic: goes to passenger kick panel. 2nd pic: A/C inside the car. 3rd pic: Black 2 pin is A/C idle up, Not sure about the white one as I have never seen it. 4th pic: Yellow o2 sensor, white reverse, blue is A/C pressure switch (if you leave this in open circuit then the thermo will always run, loop the wires). 5th pic: Black plug plugs into the body harness. 6th pic: Black single is oil switch, round 2 pin is A/C fan. 1 Quote

anastasios Posted April 20, 2012 Report Posted April 20, 2012 Am I supposed to have another plug for my ECU from the AE86 body loom? Quote
ke70dave Posted April 20, 2012 Report Posted April 20, 2012 yep! http://www.club4ag.com/faq_and_tech_pages/ECU%20Japan%20AE86%204A-GE.htm but! if you can't find a ae86 or ae82 one, i heard a rumour that the camry of the same era was the same (sv21 with 3sfe), and also maybe the celica of the same era (st162 with 3sfe or 3sge). referece to this rumour http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/archive/index.php/t-36644.html Quote
parrot Posted April 20, 2012 Report Posted April 20, 2012 Yes that is correct. Just head along to the wreckers and snip off a yellow 14 pin plug with a long tail of wires so you can join yours up easily Quote
anastasios Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 Yep managed to find a plug from a SV21 camry, thanks guys. I'm just not sure which pinout to follow. Can anyone help? Quote
anastasios Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 Link below has 3 pinouts, how do i know if mine is a late model or early model? http://www.club4ag.com/faq_and_tech_pages/ECU%20Japan%20AE86%204A-GE.htm Quote
ke70dave Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 Pull.the case off your ecu, all the pins are labeled. Then you can cross reference to the diagram. I'm under the impression all big ports are the same though. Small port is different. Quote
parrot Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 The diagnosis manual I gave you previously has all this info. Quote
