HEY guys itryed to put a 4k in my ae71 yesterday i got told that if i used the 4k engine mounts it will fit but it don't and my old engine mounts off a 4age can't bolt up to the motor so any one know how to help?

You need a ke70 cross member

Yep need a ke70 crossmember I am sure nearly anyone you ask will swap you for your old one :)

This is the equivilent of converting my ke10 to steam powered :lolcry:

The secret is more power to weight, ditch the 4k for weight and cut a hole in the floor for more power!

 

But yeah ke70 crossmember is the solution.

what are you doing for a clutch and gearbox just out of curiousity?

But, From memory you made a thread about this a day or 2 ago?

 

(Ae71 your car, Ke70 the one with a 4k)

 

 

Basically you want the reverse of an AE71 conversion.

 

The 4k wont fit ae71 crossmember, So Ke70 crossmember and engine mounts.

 

The 4k won't fit your gearbox, So ke70 4 or 5 speed box on a ke70 gearbox crossmember. Ae71 is different.

 

ke70 Tailshaft, Ae71 is different.

 

Ke70 pedalbox, (brake and clutch) and clutch cable (ae71 is hydraulic clutch)

don't laugh. A good mate of mine is converting a car to steam power. 300kw, instant torque. It will blow socks off.

well my old motor blow up and i got a crashed ke70 for a 100 bucks 4 speed so that is why i did it i got the cross member and all
