Back in the late '60s people were building twini-minis with a Mini motor at each end to get the same effect.

My Uncle has been mucking about with mini's for decades, still does. He had a road registered 4age powered Mini in the early 90s. I remember lots of engineering work went into that. Can't imagine what a nightmare it would be to engineer that AWD setup.
