Hello! I am new to the world of Toyota's and I have some questions.

What I have:

018.jpg

I just bought a unfinished Locost 7 with a USDM 1982? Corolla engine and transmission.

The engine is need of a rebuild and has Honda Prelude carbs on it.

I have been using the search to find out what I need to put a 4A-GE Blk top into my "new" car.

My car has a T-50 with hydro clutch master in it. What clutch & flywheel, clutch fork ect will I need to get for use with the 4A-GE Black Top? Sorry if this question has been asked 5000 times, I could not find the grocery list I was hoping for searchin' :-)

Is there a specific Meth Injection kit for a 4A-GE blk top?

Has anybody had experience with these doods? I was thinking about buying their wiring harness. They make a "self contained" plug and play harness for just such a transplant.

Thanks in advance for helping a noob in need.

Well for a start you will need a 4A type T50, found behind a RWD Corolla GTS in North America. Along with the clutch fork and shifter. This will bolt to your blacktop

The T block T50 you have at the moment is completely useless if changing from a T block to an A block.

that is some weird suspension!

yep as parrott sais on the gbox, gotta get an A series box.

as for the wiring room, given you arent putting this in a car, you don't look like you are restricted at the back of the head (where the distributer lives on a blacktop 20v). so i can't see any reason why you can't use the OEM wiring loom and take out what you don't need.

double check how much room you have though, i see a weird cross bar thing.

You would be mad not to consider the 3tc seeing since it is already there and all...

The 3tc motors have potential so I would recommend contacting brd racing, randy

specialises in 2tc and 3tc motors and a 160hp motor would be a good option and price

for that car being pretty lightweight?

have you driven one 7degrees?? What does the airbag front feel like for handling?

Reminds me of my ol' Mk1 Mini Cooper with its cantilevered rubber bungs. ..and Rover had horizontal coils in the front of the 2000 with bell cranks.

This car was a one-off built by the previous owner, the verdict is still out on how well it works. I bought the car as you see it, about 80% finished. (it is not running). The previous owner seemed like a pretty smart cookie, so I will be surprised if it does not work good. If it does suck, swaping to conventional coilovers, should not be too hard. :-)

The way I looked at this car was, a rolling chassis Lotus 7 kit car cost over $10000 so this car with about 90% of the stuff to finish it delivered to my house for $4000 was a bargain. I had planned to put a SR20DET into it, until I found the 4A-GE black top with those sexy I.T.B's! The Black top is a bargain for only for $695! The self contained plug & play custom wiring harness is only $449. I was thinking it would be the perfect fit if it worked with the existing transmission. I may still go this way and just modify the car to fit accept the proper T-50 trans.

The 3T-C needs a complete rebuild, a intake manafold and some new carb(s). Plus if you want 165HP a whole grocery list of other stuff. A 80000KM 4A-GE blacktop makes 165hp (stock) has I.T.B's and is $695 + 449 for a plug & play harness. I will call you to come pick-up the 3T-C when I pull it LOL
