You guys have it easy, I have 17 inch mags with 215/40 tyres *boo hoo*

 

I just deal with the bumpy, of course it matters very little what rim size I have, since my car is on the bumpstops.

Personally i think superlites are the go.

I like superlites, I think they suit the earlier than KE30 rolla's more than KE30 and later though

i have gone throuh a lot of wheels on my old ke38 wagon,

i had 14" ones like ae35 had

ive had 15" auscars

some 13" stockys

datsun 240k 14" stockies

ive had 13" 4 spoke drag ways

and 13" globe style wheels and the best stance and ride was with the 14's like ae35 but mine had black in between the spokes and alloy on the faces, they are on my dato 1600 now

I did have 15's on my car, but i think because of the leaf spring setup in the back it was a little too bumpy for me.....so i went back to 14's. Much better ride.

yeah the back rides pretty rough. out my way in the sticks the roads are pretty crap so its startin to get to me ... my mate lives on a farm and has a 2km driveway. the first half of it is dirt with a few sik bends for slideways action, then the road gets bumpy ... 1st gear material. 'spose it pays to drive slower, the other week i came round one corner and the road was covered by cows... almost ran into some beef!

i run 36 psi in my tyres on the ke70 stock rims and 75 profile (it makes me sick). these tyres also break traction before the rear does. not sure if this is coz the pressure is too high to let them mould into the surface or just coz theyre shit and from the wreckers :locked:

but yeah, the lower the profile the better the handling thru corners, but will result in a roughier and noisier ride

I'd say pressure is too high making the tyre run on the dead centre of the rubber and not the whole surface. Try 32psi and see how you go.

 

Datsun SX rims hey? They definately werent them. They were Cheviot's. Don't know what model number though....

i don't know if turning 21 this year means I'm getting old, but I'm after comfort too. This means eliminating road noise (I'm getting good at that) , new suspension, and some laid back rims for a squishier ride (oh an air con after the engine conversion ...). its a daily driver and the roads out here are bumpy so yeah it drives a man nuts i tells ya ...

14x6 jellybeans, 175 60 tyres, 32 psi, and a very nice ride, the cops don't chase me, the kiddies in the back seat don't get nocked about, and if you keep it under 80 though roundabouts, it grips (sort of). looking a little better these days after the lowering but i havent the photos to post, geoff!! come to the rescue on that please!!
