megamannz123 Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/ke30/negative-camber-roll-center-adjusters-ncrca-ke30-corolla Has anyone had any experience with these? I'm going to lower the car by 30mm with king springs fit new shocks and thinking about these to give some neg camber. I'm at +1deg at the moment at standard height so when I put the mags with wider tyres on its an absolute dog! Quote
Jono.C Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 Don't use them. Theyre stupid idea.. Get RCA's by all means but NRCA's are just stupid. Get ke20 or sigma lca's which are longer and have the same effect without being dodgy Quote
megamannz123 Posted July 17, 2014 Author Report Posted July 17, 2014 Has you used them? Their web page seem to think they are pretty good for lowered vehicles? Sigma LCA's are to much for me, are the ke20 ones shorted than the Sigmas? Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 I was going to use NCRCA as a stop gap solution to my steering arm issue but ended getting custom steering arms. I think they are more suited to someone who is drifting their car on the track and wants hecticness. Quote
megamannz123 Posted July 17, 2014 Author Report Posted July 17, 2014 They emailed me and fitting these will give me 2.8 deg neg camber. So from +1deg to -1.8deg camber, would that be ok for road use? Quote
ke70dave Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 Problem with NRCAs is its not really how the strut design is supposed to work... Strut is supposed to put force straight down into the ball joint, the bolts wont really see any sideways forces as everything is in a straight line. With the NRCA the forces sort of take a dogleg, and will put odd forces on the bolts. Its quite possible that they will be perfectly fine for road use, but yeah id prefer to go with normal RCAs, and get your camber using either camber tops or slightly longer LCAs. Quote
GJM85 Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 You don't really need a lot of camber for road use. My ke20 came down 55mm with custom springs, modded struts and T3 RCA's. Camber has ended up with something uneven in degrees with no way of adjustment. The local tyre guy recommended elongating the holes on the strut towers so the whole strut to lean over to make up the difference. Then use larger washers to cover the holes. I still haven't done anything about it. You might want to pass on the big camber if you want your tyres to last longer than 3 months. You might say it's only a weekender or a track car.... But we'll see. We shall see! Quote
megamannz123 Posted July 18, 2014 Author Report Posted July 18, 2014 For sure, I don't want big camber, just not positive like it is at the moment. I think I will lower it 30mm with King low springs and then see where the camber is at. Like I said with +1 and wide wheels it tracks all over the road, so if I can get it to 0 or -.5 it should be OK Quote
chestikoph1 Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 If you only need small adjustment, the best way to go is a set of adjustable strut tops. More expensive but the proper way of doing it and it won't effect track width. If you need more, as mentioned new longer lower or adjustable control arms are the way to go. Quote
Jono.C Posted July 18, 2014 Report Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) The local tyre guy recommended elongating the holes on the strut towers so the whole strut to lean over to make up the difference. Then use larger washers to cover the holes. That wont work.. The centre of the strut top fits tightly in the hole of the strut tower.. There's no physical way it can move You can however with ke20's re-drill the lca's mount holes in the crossmember further out by atleast 20mm If you only need small adjustment, the best way to go is a set of adjustable strut tops. More expensive but the proper way of doing it and it won't effect track width. This won't work either unless you change to cambertops.. You'll get like 1/4 of a degree before the springs hit the side of the engine bay Edited July 18, 2014 by Jono.C Quote
megamannz123 Posted July 19, 2014 Author Report Posted July 19, 2014 I have found some ke70 struts with adjustable camber tops and bigger brakes, these are skinnier springs so should allow for adjustment and should fit with little modification from memory. Correct? Quote
springersrolla Posted July 19, 2014 Report Posted July 19, 2014 I'm pretty sure the ke70 strut top bolts are wider spaced then the 30/55 so no wont fit. id need to measure. put sigma arms in its like -2 camber, nothing severe, tyres last don't worry about that shit. get a die nut and wind more thread onto the castor arms and bring the front tyres forward more. http://www.reocities.com/Colosseum/4883/e3-sus.html Quote
megamannz123 Posted July 19, 2014 Author Report Posted July 19, 2014 Cheers good article, I have a set of XT130 struts in the garage so maybe that's an option. Use those, cut the spring carrier off the ke30 and weld onto the xt130 strut, fit King springs, or maybe some adjustable coil overs from T3? Chop my LCA's and extend by 10-15mm. As you said extend the thread on the castor rod and wind it forward. That will give me bigger brakes, camber and castor, lower ride height. Quote
springersrolla Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 hey mate ill have to have a look when i get home but i run xt130 with ford capri springs????? and gh sigma lcas. that and castor rods. handles awesome Quote
