Toyota Ke 70 Project Advise

Recommended Posts

will the auto and manual flywheel work or is there a difference?

Autos don't have a flywheel, just a very thin flex plate to carry the torque converter. You'll need a manual flywheel.

Electric windows... I think you'll have to try that one yourself.

Id guess with the electric windows you would be better off starting with a gineric kit rather than trying to shoe-horn in 25yr old second hand ones from a completely different car.

Ive not done it myself and theres no way i would ever bother either.

will it be costly..

Yes !

You list out what you think you need in the way of throttle bodies, plenums, manifolds, sensors, ECUs etc, and we will add to the list. The only way really is to buy a complete 3T-EU motor with everything on it and use all the parts. I reckon trying to gather parts and buy odd bits will be all too hard.

Hey Kevin I'm from Cape Town, nice to see a SA guy here, it's real easy setting up a Efi and the old engines seem to like it, I've done a efi turbo setup on my 4K engine and it's going real good , best of luck for your project buddy

here in SA aftermarket ecu's are actually cheap, fitment instruction are relatively easy , you can even run the ecu using your standard points distributor and have the Ecu control fuel only, bottom end torque improved dramatically and fuel economy is way better that I'm still smiling today, all in all efi is the way to go
