Trev Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 Can i just ask u guys if your cover has ever oxidised from being bare as my old 77 p/van tappet cover started to go a little funny when i did it. Quote
Felix Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 yea, degreaser is bad for shiny aluminium, makes them oxidise a lot faster. Quote
Tiger Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 ok... so how do you make it that shiny? A shitload of JIF? :lmao: Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 Nah i used a buff on a bench grinder. LOL i sanded all the pits out first, then buffed with a hard woven rag buff then used the intermediate buff then used the fluffy soft one. And finished them off with a chux and mothers metal polish. I had way too much spare time haha. Quote
Raven Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 Then you should've got some hard-wearing clear coat after that so then u can just degrease off the dirt afterwards..... Quote
