check out this inlet manifold setup with single 40mm weber. definitely different. reckon it would work?

I reckon that that would work really well, It is just like putting a high rise manifold on an 8 to allow the air/fuel to mix properly and get more power out of it.

Whats a pinto engine out of.

Yep, I knew it was a Pinto cos I used to have a 2L TE Cortina. Those engines have got some definate get up and go, thats for sure.

thats a looong way for the air and fuel to travel.. starting that in the morning would be fun some days :P

 

Why didnt they just put twin 40's on top of the rocket cover, and use like a 4ke type inlet manifold (as example only) which bends down to the cylinders? Adleast then all the inlet pipes would be the same length, and you'd have 2 carbs..

ahh, but..... the single 40 dcoe as they have set it up will flow more than a normal set of twin 40mm sidedrafts. :P

Agricultural. Not sure I like it. Pinto's have been done to death. The factory cars had twins and thats good enough for me. A bit re inventing the wheel for me. to me it just doesn't look right. Cn nyne remind me if pinto's are crossflow? I can't remember.

 

I don't like his strut brace design either.

The exhaust aint on the same side as the inlet so yes its a x-flow

Thank you, I couldn't remember that, however I do know the theory behind a cross flow, I just couldn't tell from the piccie.
