At a guess I'd say because it's easier, there's a lot more know-how out there and it'll probably even be cheaper. And it'd probably go just as hard, if not harder...

 

I know of a certain Datsun that owes it's owner about 2/3 what my Corolla owes me, has about twice the power (est), has bigger brakes, is lighter and much much better setup than my Corolla. Has adjustable coilovers on all 4 corners, full harnesses, the lot...

Fast isn't the same as style? I disagree. I think that fast = style!!

 

For example, the Fiat Arbarth at Rally of Queenlsand would have to be one of the ugliest and least glamorous pieces of machinery built, but boy is it FAST and therefore stylish *grunt snort gargle*? :D Want one!!

 

Need I say Renault 5 turbo 2, Lancia Stratos, Ford RS2000?? hmm, I sense a trend - they're all 1970s machinery!! Ugly, but damned fast = damned stylish.

 

Conversely, the MX5, Z3 and other pretty little vehicles are gorgeous on the surface but are not fast, therefore not considered stylish??

 

Appearances are not everything, its the personality that counts! and when a car is well-fast, I consider that to be style, baby, style!
