chester_fb Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 yeah i just earthed it to where the tail lights are earthed to in the middle there, i just didnt see it before works fine now! cheers anyway Quote
love ke70 Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 :P what size cable is that? sounds piss small to me if you used the earth for the taillights... in my ke70, there are bungs in the floor. and if you pop the bungs up, there are bolts that go thru the chassis rail to hold a towbar. i used these as its a very substantial earth, i really recommend bigger is better in this matter Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 I recommend you run an earth cable the same size as your active to the front of the car. First run to the floor like you have, then crimp/solder another lug to a peice of cable that runs the length of the car to the chassis where the motor earth is. Do not under estimate the earth, it is as important as the active, mild steel is not a good conductor. Many people have struggled to get their car to start good, or even run properly and this is the problem. No good earth. :P Quote
Medicine_Man Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 At work lately I've been doing a lot of batteries in caravans that have to be kept charging while driving. We run a length of 6BS (Battery & Starter cable) in split tubing the entire sub frame of whatever vehicle it is to a connector beside the trailer plug. (It is important to double insulate the battery cable as it is not hard for it to wear through the insulative coating on the wire. You shouldn't need cable any bigger than that from what i gather..
