August 17, 200620 yr comment_135315 wouldnt work unless you had fuel going with it, would just make the engine lean out and possibly fail alltogether, if you did it with a fuel injected engine and if the injectors were large enough they might compensate the extra air but why would you bother? if you wanna force more air into an engine get a turbocharger... August 19, 200620 yr comment_135601 as someone else mentioned, it could make the motor run lean. and obviously the huge problem with that is blowing shit up in the engine. even if you had larger injectors you still need the computer to control the amount of fuel going into motor. so you would end up having alot of problems. good thinking. if you wanted cheap thrills you could always install nitrous. the only thing with that though is youll need to always refill. nitrous isnt like what alot of people think it is, which is the misconception from fast and furious and gay movies like that. nitrous is pretty much a turbo without the lag. just depends how much horsepower nitrous kit you want. you could just get a standard motor and run it but it is similar to having a turbo on the car, and if you get too large of a nitrous kit you will blow something up. but no reason why you can't have 100 hp nitrous kit on any car. you wont need to change shit. internally wise and some people will think. Thats why they use nitrous oxide instead of just oxygen. ok, well i have a diffrent toughts on that. when you burn gases with O2 you get these temps Acetylene 5590 F Propane 4580 F MAPP 5300 F Natural Gas 4600 F Hydrogen 4820 F and the melting point of steel is 2750°F so if you are to burn straght O2/ fuel get ready for a real BIG bang. p.s. my metal work teacher was always concerned about oil coming in contact with compress O2 , even bigger bang!!! it will spontanisly combust Report
