I was just google-ing on the net and found the site

about toyota K motors. It says here that the 4K has 60HP and the 3K made 68HP.

I am about to install a 4K into my car so by going on the information on this site I am giving my car less power.

But Some sites are usually wrong so I wanted the opinion off this forum on what has more power stocka dn an exact value if soem one has one.

umm, i'm pretty sure the reason the 4K has less rated power is because it had the pollution crap on it (spagetti hoses) take all that off and you have more power.

 

also, the 3K is a 1200cc engine....4K is 1300cc engine, so as they say, theres no replacement for displacement.

holden and ford can't even come up with a decent design engine, the only way they get more power is to make a bigger engine, keeping the same old crappy design...

 

hell, a 4 litre, 6 cylinder 2006 model falcon is still only making the same power as a 4 litre, V8 toyota engine, that was developed in 1989!!! 17 years ago!?!?!?!

Forced induction increases the efficency of the existing volume. Its "effective capacity" is increased not the displacement.

I can't really understand how you can rationalise what you just said.

 

I can appreciate a V8 engine, just as I can appreciate a I4, they both have different characteristics. Sure you can get a cheap imported hot turbo 4 and beat a few V8's, but most of the time I would say the V8 sounds better and feels better.

 

Again I feel that Ford and Holden have very nice engines as of late, well relatively. The Barra 270T for example or even the 240T, Nizpro are doing wonderful things with this engine, around the 1000bhp mark?

 

Again the Modular V8 available in current Falcons. 32 valve quad-cam, 290kw. This isn't a caveman engine, it isn't the greatest but it's not far off.

Nissans VH45DE of the early 90's made "206kw" (It accually makes more like 230kw PLUS but due to japanese regulations they can only quote 206). The current XR8 is quoted as making 260kw with almost a litre of extra capacity.

 

Nizpro is making about 1000hp out of an unopened VH45 and they were also used in the Indy cars.

As Xany said, it could be mostly due to the pollution gear on the 4K.

 

I test drove a KE55 with a recently reconditioned 4K, and it didn't have as much goey, as my KE30 with a 4K without the pollution gear. It had slower acceleration, and it felt like it had less power. And mines pretty much stock; I haven't done anything to it, except service it.

show me which 4 litre holden or ford engine makes 270kw then :D we are comparing power per litre here, and NO holden or ford engine has anywhere NEAR the same power per litre as the same year Japanses engines...

 

like I said, a 17year old toyota engine is still making the same power per litre as a current model ford piece o crap!!!

This is way off topic, however because you quoted my post that had actually already made light of the question you are again asking I will help you.

 

The Barra 270T engine, as previously mentioned: 4.0 Litre (3984cc) , Inline 6 Cylinder Engine, which is now available at a Ford dealer near you; produces 270kW @ 5250 rpm. 550Nm of torque @ 2000 rpm.

 

See you are mostly taking into account your own subjective opinion which is complete conjecture.
