  1. it's horrifying, but it shows how easily things can go wrong, take care on the roads people!
  2. so it's still in the shop  but they've pressure tested all the joints - ok they put it on a dyno (I got a whopping 60kW!!!) and found that there was an exhaust leak from the manifold, new gasket should be fitted tomorrow fingers crossed. BOV diaphragm was furkk-ed (hence the different turbo noise!) so i got me one of theeeessseeee :P it'll be going back on the dyno soon to get everything set up properly and then i'll be getting a boost guage so I know whats going on with the turbo, hopefully this saga will end soon and cheaply!
  3. i went back and paused to look at all of them, it looks sooooo fantastic!!!! well done!
  4. I can see my car!!!! :y: it's so pretty :y:
  5. YIPPEEE!!! :y: Well done on the whole process JiP! Give yourself a pat on the back, I (as well as others, I'm sure) appreciate the time and effort that you put in, BIG THUMBS UP Can't wait they arrive :y:
  6. It better not have been my car, it's in the shop, if anyone's driving it, I want to know! oh, and why do you want to know?
  7. perhaps Geoff the advertiser is alluding to "gutter rash on all rims, carpet needs replacing (due to heel wear), the doors have quite a few scratches from being hit against stationery objects, few minor dents from hitting stationery objects, but the mirrors all work and are really clean :P is that what YOU mean by typical female driver ksev?
  8. here's something to lighten the mood... http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=-AuFV09uviI  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
  9. congratulations, she's Gorgeous!! All the best to your wifey :) Are you going to call her Ella or Ella Rose in general day to day type conversation?
  10. they didn't do it in-situ, they took it all off to weld. it feels like it's making boost, it's just got no go, the tacho is hitting the 6's really fast, it feels as though the engine is making the power, it just can't put it on the ground.....oh, and I'm using a lot of fuel too.... 1/2 a tank for about 120 klms but no leaks....
  11. So I got my car back today, IT LOOKS AWESOME!!!! BUT I picked it up today (I had the CAI modified, the top intercooler pipe slightly modified, the exhaust manifold and dump pipe welded – the turbo was also sent away and examined and reported as 100% perfect), however now it’s running like heap of crap not a shower of shit! :) the tacho is kicking, 5000 – 7000rpm but where I used to get 60, 80, 100, 120 in gears 1 – 4 I’m now getting 40, 60, 80 … and eventually 100. I wondered if it was as simple as a fuel/air ratio or something that’s not connected properly or a stuffed sensor, or if it’s something more sinister….and if it was something that you can fix (like a noob mistake!). I’m taking back to my mechanics tomorrow but I’m not too sure what it could be... any ideas?
  12. I/we got: perfume - smells good! and a HUGE oriental rug from MIL new car horn - parents cabinet (hubby got a 46" LCD TV to sit on the cabinet!, and my daughter got Samsung 7.1 surround sound and bluray player to watch/listen to TV to sit in the cabinet) ACDC Song pack it's all LIVE and I don't like it! for Rock Band or GH World Tour - it's way cool! Engine bay finished off 2 bottles of southern comfort a BIG basket of nuts and wine money towards engine bay - hopefully I can get the car back before new years eve!!! a cuppachino cookie jar I gave lots and can't remember all of it. Oh, just so you know, the yellow cymbal and the red drum may have issues, if so, you log on to red octane and order the midi cable to adjust sensitivity.

  20. O....M.....G! I was driving in the city today when a friend rang me, I was driving one of my friends car (01 nanna spec rolla) and having a chat (a BIG no no people!) and I looked out the window and there was two policeman in an unmarked car beside me, I chucked the phone down and peeked over and they were shaking there heads and pointing "no no" and I was looking chargrined and incredibly embarrassed then I looked at my speedo and I was doing 70 (awww frick moment) I chucked my hands up in the air and said "of for f***s sake!* and slowed down .... when I looked over the police were LAUGHING at me! At least I didn't get a ticket :bash:
  21. just across from Harbor Town the QUIX have 5 flavours
  22. OH MY GOD!!!! It's looking sweeeeeeettttt!!!! I was thinking of having the exhaust manifold made up in stainless early next year, I've got to wait until after christmas though... Should be able to pick up the car on Tuesday :lmao: YAHOOO!!!!!!! *BIG GRIN*
  23. ok, still don't have the part number, this week has sucked nuts! BUT here's a little update... I decided to weld the cracks as a short term fix, then I'll probably get a stainless one made up... They were a bit worried about the turbo, so we sent it off to be checked out, it's all ok *PHEW!* The pipes have been made/modified and painted, I haven't seen them, but they apparently look HAWT! Tomorrow I'm off to Pirtek to look at pretty shiney hoses :) I've not had any more bad news :y: I've got an appointment for a dyno tune next week to make sure all the settings are optimised I'm really pleased with the progress made so far, and tomorrow I'm taking pictures for my scrap book :y:
