  5. Welcome! Awesome project you are taking on and I am jealous you have owned it from new. I would suggest keeping the motor n/a and getting it rebuilt to standard spec as much as possible or maybe just popping in some earlier 4age 'bigport' cams for a little extra. Just to retain the originalness you have. There are so few genuine, tidy original GTi's about. Good luck and I look forward to following your progress
  6. I saw 3 x ae86s (2 levins & a trueno) cruises south on the Monash about 5:30pm yesterday (sunday) one very tidy red one, great exhaust note, stiff as suspension, a matte forest green levin, looked like a drift car and a panda trueno... looked awesome sitting 2 abreast in my rear view morror. pity I wasnt in my rolla only pimped Kia Cerato haha
  7. phew! haha well that would be ok then :S

  9. Hi guys, what a great day out! Thanks very much for the company, good to meet a few more people and enjoy a pretty responsible day. What a grat run back from Noojee to Yarra Bend! WOW! was great to give the car a blow out and push it through the bends where it begs to be. The run up Mt Donna Boang was unbelieveable! It felt like SS1 of Targa most incredible piece of road Ive been on i Oz so far... I was really impressed with how my car stuck and tucked in. The brakes even held up ok (ish). It was really good to follow the 2 seca's & SX through the 'spirited' parts of the journey, we all enjoyed a pretty clean run and showed good pace! cheers again, can't wait until next time.
