  1. Well I'll be damned. Had the car towed out to trd_ke70's work last night, he's come to the car this morning to have a look at it, and guess what - it works. Typical... Just typical... Oh well. At least it works.
  2. Computer has power. But maybe like trd_ke70 said, it cuts signal to the injectors, or from the crank angle sensor thingy... Oh well, find out tomorrow I guess.
  3. Many super thanks to TRD ke70 :faq: No, the car still doesn't go, but with help maybe it will again...
  4. StartYaBastard had no effect. Which sounds like no spark, although when removed the spark plugs fire. Camry probably getting towed tonight.
  5. Have can of StartYaBastard, will give that a go. If that doesn't work I might go back and replace the ECU again, maybe the "new" one is a dud too? Who knows. Failing that, I think it's tow time.
  6. Replaced ECU (wow, $50), no difference. Still reads error code 51. Checked TPS, it's fine. I have no idea anymore. Carton of beer to anyone who can come and make it go again. Will probably give a couple of tow companies a call later today and see how much it would cost to tow it back to Ipswich. I don't expect it to be cheap :faq:
  7. ECU code 51: Input Circuit error. Have not yet checked TPS, don't know which wire is for AC on the ECU, so next thing on the list in the Gregory's book is to replace the ECU. Resistance on dizzy pins checked out OK. Not sure if this means anything... Going to get another ECU today, I wonder how much they cost?
  8. Will check ECU code today. Check engine light hasn't come on, so doubt there would be a code, but who knows... love_ke70: I have no idea actually. It doesn't look like there is a crank angle sensor, so I'm guessing it comes from the dizzy...
  9. Thanks for the replies... Crank signal? No idea, how do I check this? The cold start injector works when initially cranking, I would assume it is getting some sort of signal? I also get spark. Just no injector pulses. Raven: Yes, RACQ man's best guess was ECU. Will try to get one from the wreckers tomorrow. thomo: Yes it does, not entirely sure what it is immobilising, but unless the module is malfunctioning and immobilising only 1 circuit (starter works - and I know for a fact that that is one of the circuits it immobilises) then I'd be guessing it should be working? Unlikely for immobiliser to just be cutting out the injectors?
  10. No Teddy No Fun :monkey:
  11. I have an SV21 Camry. It doesn't work. I don't know why. RACQ doesn't know why either. It's sitting in the middle of Brisbane city, and I probably can't keep it there forever, but RACQ will only tow it 10km... I drove it to work this morning (no issues), and now it won't go anywhere anymore :monkey: Anyway. Battery OK Starter motor OK Fuel pump OK Fuses OK Spark plugs OK Cold start injector OK Injectors getting power, but NO PULSE. What is wrong? Dead computer? That's the only part the RACQ dude can think of. :)
  12. Haha, cool. I didn't notice the date on the thread :monkey:
  13. Pressure sender attaches to threaded hole in block. 100kW 4AGE originally already has a pressure sender here, not sure about other 4AGE's. Not recommended to put a copper T-piece here, because vibration from engine can cause the copper to crack, and that is a bad thing. If you insist on using a T-piece, best to run an oil line from the hole to the T-piece that is secured to the body of the car, and run senders off these. I've attached my oil pressure sender to the body (vibration can also kill these senders), with braided oil line to the hole in the block. Got a fitting brazed to the sump for temp sender. And yes, electric gauges are electric. Obviously the senders that feed them need to actually come in contact with whatever you're measuring - in this case oil. Mechanical gauges are just that - the gauge has to come in direct contact with what you're measuring, which in this case would mean running oil lines into your dash.
  14. Don't know if I'll be there or not. Chances are no I'd be guessing. Can someone ask about that "ATD Trophy" or whatever it was that we all paid for last year but never ever got?
  15. Teddy is crazy is not for coming up with this idea, but for using MS Paint to do that!
  16. Bummer :S Oh well, Queensland Challenge then? :P
  17. FWD is not an excuse not to come along, btw... But working Saturdays is :(
  18. So, is anyone from Rollaclub going? My entry has gone in for both days, and we're most probably staying at Mooloolaba for the Friday and possibly Saturday night. This year they've changed the event, and now it spans over 2 days (although you can enter for only 1 day if you so wish). So I'm guessing it's going to be BIG (what with having the ARC there too), possibly bigger than Queensland Challenge? Who knows... I've only driven my car once this whole year, and it was a motorkhana, and I didn't do all that well at all, so I don't have very big aspirations. Plus, most of the results will stem down to the navigation anyway, so I'm just out for a good time :D 2 new sticky tyres have been delivered, now I just have to try and see if I can get the brakes to work properly, hope the leaky wheel bearing (which has now stopped leaking) isn't going to prove a problem, and try to get my headlights to work (only my highbeams work at the moment). Will probably have to do a bit of rewiring. Might touch up the paint a little if I feel motivated, but I don't like the chances of that happening. Anyway, hope to see some familiar faces out there (maybe except Rob, cause he'll beat all of us plebs, hahaha :( j/k)
  19. Go to CAMS website, download CAMS Tarmac Rally Regulations, build car to regulations, bob's your uncle :(
  20. Post them up anyway :lmao:
  21. And slightly OT, this is from Rally Tas this year. I wonder if my driver should be worried if his nav has time to wave at the photographer :lmao:
  22. Whee :lmao:
  23. Rob: TA22. Same as the ones you picked up from me awhile ago.
  24. Saw Corolla Test Pilot at the motorkhana on the weekend, and a few things: 1) Not sure if I mentioned, but the interior of your car is absolutely overrated. The dash is perfect and untouched, the carpets are perfect, the original vinyl seats are perfect, hell it even has the original leather door handles. Wow. I've never never seen another Corolla like it. Nice score :) 2) Very well driven :) For a first go at it, you did extremely well - no WD's, no flags, neat and tidy, good to see. Keep at it, you'll go places I recon :D 3) As much as I don't think I'll be doing many events at all this year (hell that may be my first and last motorkhana for the year), hope to see you out there again!
  25. why wouldn't you keep the suspension that's already in it? It's worked very well in the past, apart from the extra weight of the bigger diff and the 2TG (which isn't all *that* much and could probably be sorted with shock revalve and/or springs). But yes, good to see, I'm sure it'll be an absolutely awesome beast when it's done. After all, just look at what it was, and what Evo2 has become, and I'm sure it won't disappoint :)
