  1. I was expecting (or maybe hoping?) for somewhere around the 900-950kg mark, so when I heard 1010kg I was like "wha???". And then I realised I had almost a full tank of fuel...
  2. Had the Corolla weighed today, and it tipped in at 1010kg with about 40L of fuel in it. So, it would probably weigh in at about 995kg with half a tank of fuel (that's how the weight is usually quoted isn't it? With half a tank of fuel? If not then about 970kg with no fuel...) So yes, it's a bit heavier than I expected, but oh well. It has a KE55 drivers door, probably a few kilos there. The rear window mechanism can probably come out, since I can't wind them up or down anyway (cage in the way). And I'm sure I could take out a bit more with a hole saw if I really wanted to.
  3. Bah, I *still* haven't gotten my ATD 2005 trophy thingy. Biggest scam ever.
  4. There are faaar too many pages to cut and paste... :)
  5. Seeing as I haven't really been on the forums much lately, maybe this belongs to someone here... But if not, it's an interesting read (I've read like only 3 pages so far): http://redlineau.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t...der=asc&start=0 Including some interesting points like what gearbox crossmember to use, engine mounts etc. Awesome stuff :)
  6. No, wasn't me. If it was, you would have known about it :)
  7. Awesome stuff :) That looks like sooooo much fun :)
  8. Sounds like my Camry, absolutely no power below about 2500-3000RPM (struggles to even take off in 1st gear). Except, my engine is stock. It's just a kinda stuffed :)
  9. The Sherrin Mini uses Ferodo Racing pads, I'm not sure what compound they are running, but whatever it is, it's good stuff. Never got any fade in them even after a hell of a lot of trashing through Targa Tasmania. Don't know how well they last though, and they're pretty dusty.
  10. Racebrakes RB74. Cheap, work better than standard pads in all conditions (they work cold, and I haven't managed to get them to fade yet either), can be a bit squeely though. Have used them in standard Corolla calipers, Corona calipers and Hilux calipers, all thumbs up :P
  11. Not sure about the replica, but yes the genuine one is a works car, with a works engine, putting out 300hp (so the driver tells me - and it sounds it too!)
  12. st.nick: wrong way around, the RHD (with the big spotties) is the real deal, the LHD is a clone.
  13. It is MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :P Here's the photos I took And here is us being happy: ;)
  14. Cethana wasn't too bad this year I don't think, but Strahan had cars growing from trees and rocks everywhere. Steve Glenney in his privateer STi was kicking arse (even the factory Subaru Team with Dean Herridge at the wheel, and the factory Evo IX with Warrick Rooklyn at the wheel) until the last day when he ran out of tyres at lunchtime...
  15. 47th outright (would have been 35th if not for driver having major brain fart and mowing down a chicane at 20km/h on a non-competitive stage), 1st in class, 1st in category. Also won the general team event too. Which was rather unexpected since one of our team members took down a bus shelter and then proceeded to get beached, and another team member lost a cylinder on Day 5, and also spun into a ditch on Mt Arrowsmith. Most delighted with the results :P Unfortunately we weren't the quickest Mini's, 2 of the Mini Australia (factory team) Mini's whooped us on almost every stage. I guess having professional drivers and navigators in a factory backed team makes work for us amature privateers a bit hard eh?
  16. st.nick: Oh yeah, thanks for coming up and saying hi :P
  17. Not entirely sure which corner it was (since we just toured through I wasn't keeping tabs on the notes) but I believe the notes read a little something like this: 8L 100 8R 50 ! KINK & RE T2L & SHRT 9R The car came off on the RE (right entry ie road kinks to the right slightly) T2L (turn 2 left). So yes, there is a ! (CARE) on that call.
  18. Peaky lives on :D Wow this is a small world indeed!
  19. Umm... it is Rollakid isn't it? Blue KE20? Going along the SE Freeway south bound at about 4'ish PM. I was on my yellow SV650, hope I didn't shock you or anything, I came up beside you and then discovered that: a) I'm not so good at waving at people next to me while riding in peak hour traffic b) You probably didn't know who I was anyway :) c) Having a random bikie with steel knuckled gloves come up next to you and looking at you can be a bit intimidating if taken the wrong way... :D
  20. Tacho dash QLD Challenge with Craig... Ah, nostalgia :P
  21. Here more photos of Pinky when I owned it:
  22. Someone put a dent in Pinky!!! And no, those aren't SAAS racing seats, they're out of a Civic, and yes I put them in there too. Looks like the car is exactly as I sold it ages ago, except now it seems to be missing the air filter. Engine etc looks like the same one too. And if it is, no it's not an import 4K, it's a HiCam 4K out of a KE70. Yes, I custom fitted the tacho (out of a Corona), yes it has a fuel/temp gauge where the clock used to be, out of an RA23 (?) Celica. It used to have the jellybeans that are on Haikal's car now, but I sold it with those stocko rims. Yes, I also did the round headlight conversion (with the help of Jamie and Lucky), and also the Corona brake conversion, as well as the larger master cylinder out of a Pajero. And yes I also redid a fair number of the bushes with poly ones. Good score! Take care of lil Pinky...
  23. I'd volunteer since I'll be in the area... except I'll be kinda busy in car 920! :P
