  1. My car has been noise tested, and is legal. I've got a single hotdog resonator and a single dogleg muffler.
  2. Name: Fook Car: 1975 KE35 Motor & Driveline: Smallport 4AGE, Cusco LSD, 4.77 ratio Suspension & Brakes: Adj coilover front, Hilux/Pug disc brake front, Bluebird TRX disc rear, hydraulic handbrake Wheels & Tyres: 14x6 Hotwires, random tyres Interior: Welded in rollcage, OBX fixed back seats, lots of interior stripped out. Body: Nothing special. Missing front panels at the moment due to intimate moment with guardrail Other: Black bonnet. Yay.
  3. I've just seen the video footage and the photos for the first time... Gosh :P Good luck Rob, keep the Dwarf on the brown stuff...
  4. RIP Brockie. I've met and raced along side Peter at Targa Tasmania this year, and while I wasn't left with the best impression of him as a racer, I would have to take my hat off to him for all he has done for motorsport in Australia, and his endless dedication and commitment to his fans. As someone mentioned earlier, he would without fail be prepared to stand for hours between stages to sign autographs and take photos with his fans, this is not something you see often from other competitors. It's indeed a sad day for Australia, but at least he was doing what he loved best. This is going to be a bit of a blemish for Australian Tarmac Rallying (which has seen more than it's fair share of accidents, injuries and casualties in the past few years), and for Targa West which was raved on a lot from competitors last year, as one of the best Tarmac Rallies in Australia. A real shame :P *sigh* RIP Brockie, rest assured you will not be forgotten...
  5. I can't see why you wouldn't be able to use the stock computer. Yes, water pipes will be an issue due to clearance and all that (silvertop has silly water outlet facing the wrong way), but that shouldn't stuff with the computer as long as you keep all the factory sensors. What are you going to do with the dizzy? Kellam Kit will probably be your best bet I recon. Oh, just re-read what I posted before, and umm, I think the tacho is out of a Celica, not a Corona...
  6. You drove it down the freeway? How come it didn't come home on the trailer? I guess it's nice to actually drive the car so that come raceday you don't find out that selecting 5th while you're flying across the top of a big ridge means engine go "bleh"... Good luck ;)
  7. That funny bell shaped thing where the old clutch cable used to come out - why didn't you just cut the whole thing off? Instead of nibbling a bit of it away to clear the clutch master?
  8. Mitch13: You could put in a bicycle computer. No joke, it's quite doable, and it's cheap. Just make sure you get a bike computer that reads past 99km/h. Is it wrong by 20km/h all the time? Or does it get more and more wrong the faster you go?
  9. If it really was a problem (like if you changed gearbox or diff ratios etc) you can get mechanical adaptors to fix the speedo. They aren't cheap though.
  10. Teddy: You're crazy. Absolutely crazy. And I love it :laff: Something you might want to consider - red dash lights. I had them in my Lancer (changed from boring yellow ones to red ones), and I personally don't think red is a good colour for dash lights, because when the red warning lights come on, you don't notice them. Go for amber or blue or green or some other color.
  11. Mmm... Proflex... I've experienced "cheap" Proflex, and I say... *PROFLEX ROCKS!!!*
  12. Huh? Do you mean that the button came off? or...?
  13. So very cool. Group B rally cars are so amazingly cool.
  14. I've got one that you can borrow, and it's probably already disassembled. Someone in Brisbane has it (I've been trying to get it back for... years). If you want it let me know and I can try to find out who and you can pick it up from them...
  15. Ah, so you are after the bearing carrier... I might have one too. I'll have a look.
  16. Do you mean the actual arm that holds the throwout bearing carrier? I don't know what it's called either, and have no idea if you can actually buy one by itself? Might have to go looking for one at the wreckers or something... Basically there's an arm (2 pronged thing made of pressed steel) that pivots on the bellhousing (and sticks out the other side). Then there's the throwout bearing that is pressed onto a carrier. The carrier is held onto the arm by 2 little clips. And BTW, early T50's (celica etc) with the T bellhousing have different arm etc to the later ones (AE86 etc) with the A bellhousing.
  17. Hey cool, the front of your car looks really similar to the front of mine. Grille is the same, front lip is similar. We both have black bonnets. 1) Nice color :hammer: 2) LOVE THE WHEELS.
  18. Oh hey look. Is it just me or is there a resemblance? Crysler's inspiration for the 300c? :lolcry:
  19. After speaking to mechanic, I cut the spacers with a hacksaw and spread them to get on the wheel side of the bearing. It sounded like a good idea at the time and I'm sure they still work just as effectively, but I must say, it's made putting the axles in a hello of a lot harder because they aren't quite round anymore (I couldn't seem to bend them back to exactly the same shape as they started out). Trying to get them to line up and slot into the hole was really really hard and time consuming! I hope I never ever have to take the axles out again! Right axle now appears to have zero play (hmm, is this worrying? Considering the bearing itself has a tiny bit of play), but seems to spin freely, left axle has maybe about 0.5 or 1mm (didn't get a chance to measure properly). Calipers are back on, need to fill the diff back up with oil, put wheels on and see if it all works!
  20. Looking good, where at the round headlights from?
  21. There is a new rule. Teddy, Jason and Justin are not allowed to crash their cars. Jason: Yes, folded up sheet metal. 1mm steel I think. Or maybe it was aluminium. I can't remember. I made it in two halves cause it was too hard to cut the hole out otherwise. Well, too hard with just a pair of tin snips anyway.
  22. Just stumbled on this thread, I'm at work so I've just been flicking through the pages and not really reading too much. WOW. I've come to the conclusion that: Jason + Teddy + Justin = Perfect Car. Jason: After all that effort in getting your car sorted and put together virtually perfectly, why don't you put a proper box around your radiator? Doesn't take much time (took me only a few hours to do mine, including head scratching and measuring and cutting and waiting for paint to dry). Would probably work a lot better, and you won't risk damaging your rather nice looking radiator. Vibration and screws in your radiator fins (even if they are padded) is not your friend.
  23. I've switched over to Live, and I find it better than Messenger 7 in some ways, and no worse in other ways. All in all, I like it
  24. Note to self. The inside diameter of a ring, is the outside diameter minus (2 x thickness of the ring). What does this mean? If you want a ring that is 72mm OD, and 3mm thick, then the ID is 66mm, NOT 69mm. Dammit. Oh well, it's only money. Money I don't have
  25. No such bearing exists (closest is 22mm wide I think, which is too wide). So getting 2 spacers made up for a total cost of $35. Hopefully it works.
