  1. I wonder what would happen if I brought my Camry...
  2. But if you *really* wanted to decrease drag you'd put an electric water pump in
  3. Cool stuff, thanks for the link... Oooh tempting  I wonder if it's much (if any!) performance gain having lighter pulleys... Well, I'm sure it is, but it'll probably be like 0.01hp or something :D But so bling :y:
  4. That's cool :) I would imagine they'd be lighter than the standard items? How much were they? ebay link? :)
  5. Very neat. Nice :) Would you have any issues with engineering and rego with the modified firewall?
  6. That looks more like gun metal grey than chrome at the moment? In any case, I don't really like the black centers... I'd vote to leave them as they are (assuming they are gun metal grey)
  7. Heh, not sure about the fire thing, but yes, having the battery under the back seat does give you a rather big shock when the seat springs touch the terminals! And I'm not even a fat bastard! :no2:
  8. Looks like you have a bit of a vegetation problem in your intake plenum and your air flow meter
  9. They work for me. Me thinks Teddy has competition for toughest coolest KE70 on Rollaclub
  10. If you got locally available parts (such as cams etc) and then got the rest from Kameari, wouldn't that be cheaper and work (almost) as well?
  11. Just found this thread (from Doug's For Sale thread). Umm, why can't you roll the car after you've taken the engine/box out? I've done it twice now on my Camry? The wheels don't go all floppy unless you disconnect the steering rack, the only thing flopping about are the CV's...
  12. BTW, a friend of mine has a front lip for a TA22 Celica that he wants to sell for $100. I'm not sure how big it is, or even what it looks like, but it's fibreglass... He's in Brisbane though. Then again, you ARE coming to Brisbane aren't you? :P
  13. Wow... Heh, I dare you to bog it up and attempt to get a roadworthy :P
  14. Thanks for the pics. The flares look great!
  15. No, there is absolutely no room to crack the gearbox off. There is about 5mm clearance on either side of the engine/gearbox between the chassis rails. Anyway, old engine is out, and new engine is now sitting in the engine bay. Just need to hook everything back up, do a bit of wiring, cross my fingers, and hope for the best...
  16. Yes, I drove the car part of the way home with no clutch, and I know it's possible. But only in the forward gears, and only after 1st gear I think... Reverse gear appears to be impossible to engage with the engine running... And you can't stop at lights, or intersections, or control speed when going slow... And yes, reversed the car down the driveway and then back up the driveway into the garage on the starter motor last night. Didn't unplug the leads though, and yes, the car started ;) Cameron: I think I might swap the whole spare engine+gearbox combination, it'll probably be easiest...
  17. Corolla doesn't work at the moment either ;)
  18. I need to be at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday and Monday, and at the Gold Coast on Tuesday. I don't think I can drive my clutchless Camry that far... ;) HALP!
  19. I wonder how drivable the car is without a clutch. I know for a fact I can't get it into reverse gear from neutral with the engine running. My car is facing my house at the moment so I'm not game to try to engage first with the engine running. But I know that changing from 1st to 2nd to 3rd without the clutch was really bloody difficult, and made a lot of noise ;)
  20. I have absolutely no idea.
  21. I'm driving home today in the Camry, and I suddenly notice it's getting pretty hard to change gears. Then I notice that the clutch pedal doesn't come back up anymore. That's strange. Hey look, even with the clutch pedal in the clutch is still engaged. Umm... Anyway, left it in 3rd and just managed to get home, slip the car back into neutral (can't get it into any other gear), cut engine. Had a look underneath, no clutch fluid. Hmm. Popped the bonnet, looked around, can't really see any leaks. Looked in the clutch reservoir, it's a bit low. Topped it up. Pulled the clutch pedal back up and pressed it again, hey it still doesn't come back up? Had a look at the clutch cylinder again, and it's like, fully extended. So pushed the plunger back in (clutch fluid now leaking out, maybe it was over extended), how come the clutch fork doesn't come back? Clutch problem? Wiggled the clutch fork, gee it's light, doesn't feel like it's pushing anything at all. Tried to pry off the rubber boot so I could have a peek inside, and half the clutch fork came out!!! WTF??? I must be really talented or something to break a clutch fork... ARGH. I have spare engine and gearbox (and so spare clutch fork), but have no time to replace fork for next week or two. I have no other means of transport. This sucks. Anyone want to buy a Camry? ;)
  22. Wow, I love those quads
  23. a) That looks really good. LOVE the wheels and white walls. Suits the car! b) Nice radiator. And other such shiny bits. c) I like :P
  24. I love this project. You'd be doing pretty well to break those CV's :P And oh yeah, re: the gearshift mod, I probably should have said "spacer box" more than a "spacer plate" because I think it was a few inches tall!
