Have you ever noticed how fast "20-30 meters" goes by when you're doing 120km/h? Like Rob said, even if he did pop the clutch etc, he would have already been carrying too much speed to stop in time. And judging by the tyre marks, he did try to stop, just didn't quite succeed. This was a car and crew that from what I've heard generally do fairly well in these sorts of events, so I would say they would be relatively experienced.

That 2nd video is awesome! No wonder the nordic countries come out with some of the best rally drivers... I want to go to Norway too!!! :D

Heh, as they said on TripleM the other day, they were having a "discussion" about changing from the British royalty to the Sweedish or something (the Queen vs the young Princess from Sweeden), and they said the post office would sell a lot more stamps if it happened, and someone asked why... Because most people would rather lick a young Sweedish girl than an old British woman! :D

And obviously it was very unattractive for poor rex and lynn carr (who were in that Datsun 260Z). On that stretch of road we probably would have been doing maybe 120-150km/h (possibly more, since they were consistantly faster than us up the mountain), it's pretty much pedal to the metal, or standing on the brakes all the way up. The skidmarks for the Z would have been maybe 20 or 30 meters before it launched itself a good 50 meters off the cliff. They were so very lucky to get out of it alive. Stuck throttle also caused the destruction of Rollie (4AGE), by the time Nikki clutched in she was already carrying too much corner speed...

Do you? I don't know about the KE70/AE71, but in the KE35 both the K and T boxes bolt up.

Doing it with spray cans will most probably cost more in the long run, and most probably won't look as good either.

I recently acquired 2 new games for the PS2 - GT3 and WRC. And I must say, I'm rather disappointed with both. WRC... The graphics isn't all that great, and the physics model isn't all that flash either. It's nice to be able to setup the car and all that, but all in all... Hmm. GT3. For all the rave and hoorah this game has had, I really expected so much more. Granted, I only played it for about 30 minutes last night (had to read silly home buying contract stuff), but it... *oh shit gotta go, must sign contract to new house* *... gawd i hope finance comes out good... *

Mel: She was really friendly, in fact day 1 at the documentation she actually came up to me and introduced herself (brownie points :D) and welcomed me to the whole "targa" thing (since she's done quite a few now) (more brownie points). But yes, I was very busy keeping the team going, didn't get to meet too many others but did notice the cars and always noticed the names cause I was always staring at the time sheets :P
