heya mate. photos on the way, now.
i ran with the ke70 cable, fitted no trouble.
was lucky i had the donor car there for the bits needed, tho, like the pedal box, the little clutch cable 'spout' thingo in the firewall, etc
i tried the conversion with a ke70 manual, but the mount wouldnt work, id have had to modify the x member too much, as the mount(cradle type) was too different.
not to mention the shifter was out by this much, and didnt want to take out that much meat
KE70 shifter location
so i went with the ke55 5 spd outta the yellow wags i had in the yard.
started putting her back together
again....
then my tailshaft was too short..
so, with google as my friend, not to mention the FAQs and a few old posts asking the same thing, I rang Joel for his advice, as he had done a fair few of these.
now, before i rang him, i went through mine and Robs collection of them, all from ke corollas, most different
once again, he says, "rock down mate, I'll hook ya up" wont go into detail, as you mightnt want it public, but you know what you did mate,
I OWE YOU BIG TIME
so, yesterday was my son's birthday, i race to Brissie after work, get the bits off Joel to get her sorted, and race back in time for Sizzlers(my son's fave 'restaurant') for tea.
i then have an early night, set my alarm and get up early to try get her sorted before the Rolla Club camping trip today.
Rob rocks over with the family, and we get into it.
Joel's bits get the driveline sorted <3 and we take her for its maiden voyage to get some carby clean, etc
