ok man you don't need that tool. get a bench vice and clamp the gland nut in upside down, then wrap the stub axle in a thick rag, put a thick bit of pipe over that and carefully crack the gland nut. just gotta think outside the square a bit when it comes to jobs like this :)

I'm just gonna throw it out there... have a look at your caster rod. youll notice it has thread on it. that thread will adjust to like 3-3.5 degrees of caster, if thats not enough for you, then you should really be looking into a rose jointed type uber adjustable setup. as it is at this stage your going to need to flare or chop your front corner of your guard for this kind of alignment.

What do you mean about the caster man? Ae86 and ke70 are the same strut top
  4. Sorry but I have too much on between start of December and Jan with the move.
  5. cages gave plenty of downsides too. i prefer to brace a car over caging it.
  6. diesel ones go for 3 times that much easy, modded ones four times that much.
  7. I was actually cranking some good breaks and d+b the other day, needed a reminder that there was good music out there still other than derpstep lol
  8. make it mostly passenger stuff man id hate to hit a earthmover tire, thatd sure hurt both driver and the car!
  9. depends how you look at it des, at the moment there are some really cheap 80s going and if i can get a 80 for cheap enough then id be onto it straight away! theres one guy selling a manual diesel in good nick for 5 grand atm! find me a 4.2 manual patrol for that much!
  10. the wiring bit is a lot harder but its a pretty entry level engine conversion, plenty of people on here to help!
  11. Lol rian none of this stuff is too hard hey. can probs help out on that front too! been there done that lol.
  12. yeah i dunno why but i just don't like that ol BBM, i mean i know why its better but i just don't like lol. who knows whatll happen when it comes to the car itself, have a few friends half interested in buying it off me for cashola. if that happens ill porbs go without a car till january and then buy a pootroll or a cheap 80 series (preferred option)
  13. yeah not really fussed itll be done when it is, don't care when as long as its done right!
  14. This goes for everyone too guys. Someones gotta fix all our rusty pieces of junk now terry is out of the game!
  15. Thats what I'm aiming for man. If I still have it (likely)
  16. Oh and Dave your right they have more down travel than upwards, but the spring rate I'm running wont allow very much upward travel.
  17. Rian: it was auto and everything was gone apart from the engine lol. Cheers Spencer!
  18. The T3 strut insert spacer negates the need to cut the strut shorter, these have much more travel than youd think. Might even need helpers lol.
  19. ok so havent updated anything in a while due to lack of time, have been packing everything up for the big move! we found ourselves a nice house in chermside with a big backyard for the pup and the kitties and the huge mancave downstairs for me and the rollas to play in lol. I'm still on the lookout for a pair of stock ke70 front struts and steer arms so i can move the DX I'm kinda starting to cut it short now. went to the wreckers the other day and managed to find a AE71 with no front struts but i did find a full aircon system which i carefully removed to keep it all in good nick and will have all the bits tested before i muck around installing it. so yeah if anyone has a set of struts to lend to me or sell off cheap enough for the purpose of moving the DX to its new home thatd be handy. if not ill move the cars one at a time and swap the struts from one to the other... but thats gonna be rather inconvenient lol.
  20. ohhh yeahh where did you guys go to?
  21. the usual stuff bro no worries. all fairly easy repairs! got some good brand new galvanised steel (written off bonnets from work) for doing repairs with
