  1. Pedders springs in front, will post up more crap later...
  2. Water pump to suit 1983-85 AE71 on Ebay for $25 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-COROLLA-AE71...1QQcmdZViewItem
  3. Here's the link to my project car also, subscribe to it biatches. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?a...f=54&t=8895 The engine and box in it are better and will probably find a new home in the engine bay of my daily. So stay tuned, my plans for the daily will be as follows for the not too distant future... -Engine and box from project car to be installed to replace the tired motor -New Pedders springs to be put in front (shocks later on) -Pedders rears that I won on e-bay to go in soon also (when my old man picks them up) -Some point not too far off also I should be choosing my best 4 out of my 8 CSX rims, painting them black then putting the 4 pirelli's off the project car on. Just sick of keeping the wheels polished, may even sell them not sure though as the tyres are newish and worth keeping as spares. That's all for now.
  4. For the front I picked up some (lowest they do) Pedders sports ryder brand new springs today. And dad's apparently picking up the rear springs (won them on e-bay) soon. Will probably put the fronts in tomorrow.
  5. What user name were you bidding under? I usually don't bid on stuff if I recognise a toymods/rollaclub etc user is bidding.
  6. Ahh so this is who I was bidding against for the mirrors:P
  7. The motor has 1 (non visible) slight bend in 1 of the valves, and therefore was only doing a half rotation when turning the crankshaft, as the valve was stuck open and hitting piston #3. I think i paid $350 or $400 (can't remember was last year). Early front panels yeah, with some interesting lights;)
  8. This is the engine I bought a while ago, it will be undergoing a full rebuild and being pointed in the right direction. These are the early front panels I have purchased over the weekend
  9. Well I thought I'd start a new thread for this AE71 I bought a few weeks ago. It was in a bit of a front to rear prang with the previous owner unfortunately so a little bit of 'extra' work I originally didn't want to encounter in a build up will be needed. I bought a damaged car as opposed to straight because it came up at the right price. Those of you who know I have a daily driver AE71, don't get it confused with this car. My daily driver thread... http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...c=7677&st=0 Enough chat now, pictures say a thousand words... Photo taken by previous owner (Gish) after accident Photo's taken by me as work has commenced in driveway while I await shed space to be cleared by my brother and father. The right hand chassis rail has a minor kink (level with rear gearbox cross-member) in it which will need fixing As it sits now after the removal of the damaged panels
  10. I second that motion, it's been a few weeks since an update. Teddy, I wouldn't mind picking your brain for a bit of info regarding KE70/AE71 front differences for my own project. If you use MSN please add me... [email protected]
  11. Previous owner was on this forum... ...Gish (We're in Melbourne) I'm sure he'll still be around watching this thread and my Toymods one to see what's happening with it. Was his first car and he seemed to love it heaps and let me buy it coz he wanted it to go to a good home rather than sell it for more and see it parted out. He'll flip when he sees the finished product:P
  12. Konig Rewinds 15X7 0 offset Getting them from Ozzytyres in Sydney.
  13. Quote for these wheels I got was 250 per wheel. Tossing up whether or not it's worth it... 1K for the set then $100 for shipping so $1100 delivered to door, just don't want second hand rims on the project car.
  14. Think my bro's spent around 2,300 so far on the 4A-C rebuild. Still rising. Just hope he proves me wrong (told him he should have put in a low km 4A-GE for similar price)
  15. News on the brake upgrade?
  16. Why? In my opinion it defeats the purpose of owning a panelvan. Everyone will see you shaggin'.
  17. Lol, yeah biggo it's done 350,000 kms or there abouts, and it blew a hole in one of the valves to my absolute amazement. Never thought it was possible to kill a 4A-C but it obviously is (mind you it was still running, just no comression reading on that particular cylinder) He's boring the block and buying pistons to suit, getting custom extractors made, match porting the head and putting a webber on it.
  18. Project car purchased. It's going to be stripped, painted, twinkied (full rebuid, bottom end standard, 256 cams, TRD copies etc) and re-trimmed all in due time as funds come in and time is available. Have the front panels from my KE70 parts car, and the chassis will have to be looked at closely, most probably needs slight allignment. As it's done a few kms less than mine and has better brakes, new rack boots, better clutch master cylinder, better clutch and motor and all needs to be stripped to paint the engine bay anyway, I'll probably put these things in my daily driver. Replacing all things in the project car with new stuff. Waiting on a clear shed to do the work, 4A-GE bottom end is first on the list for the project as my brother will be finished building his 4A-C for his AE86 soon, and I'll be able to use his stand
  19. Thanks heaps, much appreciated.
  20. Only Update I can give y'all for now is I may be buying another AE71 soon, as the proper project car... If I don't get the one I looked at on Sunday I'll probably buy some Wade cams for the 4A-GE and get started on working out exact specs of the top end. Have to work out what thickness of shimless buckets I need, think the motor they come from is the 2NZ-FE (Toyota Echo) still gotta look into it. Then get the smallport head I've got lined up checked out and if all is well, port it to a size halfway between the bigport and smallport sizes. That's it for now, gotta finish the spoiler soon, been housesitting so will get back into it when I'm back at home.
  21. Are the challengers the one I'm thinking of that look similar to a simmons rim? If so 15" in that style would look hot, way better than those 17's in the photo's too. 15" is just the right size whatever rims you get. Top ride.
  22. Thinking of throwing these rims off our paddock basher on her:P
  23. Got a little bit more done earlier today...
  24. Long story short, where I got up to today.
  25. Haven't done much extra the last few days, kinda hit a wall with the end pieces of the wing (being too upright). They're kinda impossible to modify the current end bits because they're too upright but need to lean in further. So I went up to styrapak and bought another block of foam as well as 2 x 1.8m lengths for sideskirts :) Gonna get stuck into it tomorrow again and cut a couple inches of each end of the wing to be able to get the ends right. Must get stuck into it because I will be in full time work soon so the hours wont be available as I'll be working 2 jobs :monkey:
