  1. So I've been looking around on the net a bit more and see that the TE21 - TE27 came our with the 2TC fitted. Now it's just a matter of getting the cross member and mounts from one being wrecked in the US. I can only assume these parts would be a direct bolt in?
  2. Yeh will do, just looking for the blank OEM keys - $10 for two so can't complain ;)
  3. hahah - time to order some nasty reproduction keys from Thailand me thinks!!
  4. Jono.C - Former juvenile delinquent? lol..... Wire didn't work but can confirm that scissors did. I worry for my 25's safety now!
  5. Cheers for all the tips guys - Have tried a few of them however the 25 has a side mounted lock which is positioned on the door handle. This makes it extremely hard to get anything onto as you cannot see it. Also it takes a bit just to pull it out with your fingers, let alone using wire or something alike :( The lock is per this pic.
  6. Silly me has only just got the car with one key and I've locked it inside after finishing work on it. Any ideas how to get into it without damaging anything. New paint and overrated chrome so don't want to hurt anything. Interior lock is in a bitch of a place so can't get to it with wire. Tried a few other keys but no such luck. Cheers
  7. Absolutely agree with you there. Driveline will cop a hammering so lots of components will need to be upgraded. W55 is about the only good options I am aware of for trans, however diff & tailshaft are limitless as are brakes, struts etc.. Pedal box etc.. will also need replacing so there are a swag of things to do. First things first I need to try and find an uber cheap T18. Agius - Looks awesome dude. The 3TC just looks so at home in the engine bay doesn't it? Any ideas on current hp figures and any future plans for it?
  8. Awesome, cheers dude. Just to get the saliva flowing!!
  9. Styler - My turbo 5k did give a great delivery of power and still quite revvy however there is not a lot you can do with the heads on them. As much work as you can do on them you will never get the air needed. Unless someone can prove me wrong and I would be more than happy for them too, because I love the K's more than any other engine. Unfortunately the 5k head gasket blew within a matter of days, purely because I was lazy and cheap and threw it all together in a hurry out of excitement! But when she did run she flew, and that was in a slightly heavier 36 wagon.
  10. They certainly do require a bit of "love" but the standard bottom ends are supposed to be extremely strong and will take some serious boost. On the other side of things the valvetrain does require some work but the parts are readily available and quite reasonable in price from the US. I wasn't going to go EFI - was looking at the blow through setup with a 500 holley carb which is available off the shelf, rekitted, jetted and ready for the tuirbo conversion! Still lots of research to do but if I can get my hands on a cheap T18 I would have a fair bit of the parts I need to do the conversion. Agius - I'm loccated in Brisbane but would love to see some pics of your conversion. I assume there was no mods required to the trans tunnel etc.. Your car looks pretty cool. I used to have a 30 that we put a mildly worked L20B from a Datsun into. Mild head work, mild cam, balanced bottom end and twin 42mm webbers. Nothing special but it was putting out 98rwhp which was more than enough to beat stocko V8's and turbo's, and still scare the life out of some of those mildly worked. I will never forget racing a VK SS on the highway night watching his shift light on his monster tacho blinding him and him looking sideways at me thinking "WTF!!!" Ahh the gold old days! :)
  11. Very true Parrot, however no different I guess than putting an SR20 or 3SGE into one. A lot less trouble even I'm sure! Entirely agree with you on that Styler. 2TG was an option in the TE27 however I am going for something slightly different. Still a great engine and a lot of potential with the 2TG's however it has been done quite a few times. I want that wow factor when the bonnet is popped and people wonder what the hell they are looking at. Would be more than eager to see our conversion so far! And if you get bored with it, feel free to sell all your goodies on to me! A mate at work is selling the perfect conversion which includes complete front cut 20V 4AGE, dizzy relocation kit, gearbox, tailshaft etc.. I guess that would be too easy. Some of us just like to take the hard road and learn things the hard way!! ;)
  12. Hey guys, Just wanted to gather peoples thoughts on putting a 3TC into a KE25. It doesn't seem to be all that common here in Oz at all and that is ideally what I am looking for - something different. They seem to have a lot of success with getting good horsepower figures from them in the US & Puerto Rico. Is there a reason why people don't use them over here? Parts seem to be readily available and cheap in the US. Has anyone on the forum actually built one these engines and had success with them. The conversion itself looks quite simple to fit into the 25. The engines and boxes seem to be quite cheap to pickup from a T18. They seem to respond extremely well to forced induction by way of a blow through setup. Anybody who has luck with a good hp n/a setup I would love to hear from. There is a guy on 3TCgarage.com from QLD who is getting 270rwhp from his and running 12's in a Celica. Does anyone know him? Cheers for any help you can give me!
  13. There were a few rollas at Jambo. Think one had 27LTR plates, assuming it had a hilux engine. A ke10 running silly quick times and another ke20, think it was purple. Oh, and of course my stocko white 25 with whitewalls.
  14. Red KE25 running at Jamboree today? What engine? Awesome car ;)
  15. Cheers bud, it's a great starting point but a long way to go yet!
  16. Hi guys, I'm not quite new to this forum but I have been absent for a very long time. I was living in the UK for the past 5 years but the craving for another Corolla drew me back to sunny Brisbane. After a good solid 10 months of looking I finally found a suitable candidate which I sourced from a fella in South Australia. He has done a good job on the 25 so all credit to him for the car as it currently sits. So the first rolla I ever had was a bright yellow 36 wagon which I poured a lot of time and effort into before unfortunately meeting a guard rail and then being smacked up the bum by an Excel. The old girl was lowered on corona rims and eventually had a 5k put into her. At a later date we turbo'd the 5k using a 1 3/4" SU carb as fuel supply. She went well for a week until the head gasket let go. Sorry to say motorvation was lost and it was time to move on. From there I brought a 30 with an L20b, twin 42's and a 240k 5 speed. Another great car Next was a 25 which was apricot in colour and she was a very tidy little car. Alas at that point I didn't have the time to put into her so she was sold off to Superjamie who I believe wrapped her around a pole :( Last but not least was my 70 with an SR20DET which was probably one of the first ones of the time running around Brisbane. Again credit goes to a different party for the work put into the conversion. So here I am today and finally I have my latest pride and joy, and time and money will be spent on this old girl. So much to do to her and so little time. She currently sits in pretty well stock form. She has been resprayed inside and out, chassis blacked, lowered on Corona rims with whitewalls. All chrome work still exists and interior has been retrimmed. The plans - Good question and still undecided. A definite is TE27 flares, fender mirrors, Rota Aleica's, new hood lining & dash pad. To be decided - Which engine, trans, diff and induction type. I am in the process now of having it roadworthied and it will be on the road shortly with KE25 number plates on her. Keep an eye oout and feel free to say g'day if you see me around.
  17. Alas, the time has come to sell my M3 but the proceeds will be going to a good cause. House deposit and another KE25!! I was lucky enough to score QLD "KE25" plates and will need something to put them on, so once the Beemer goes, I will be looking for another 25. Anyway, a little about the car. 1999 BMW M3 Convertible Estoril Blue Full Schwarz black leather interior All entirely original with no mods Convertible hood is perfect as it has spent most of its life with a hardtop on it Original tool kit and first aid kit in the boot Vanos unit rebuilt with upgraded solenoid seals (a must). These things cost an arm and a leg to rebuild!! Staggered 7.5" & 8.5" rims with new Kuhmo Ecsta's Have all Service history in the BMW leather folder Drives beautifully and is pretty quick for a stocko (0-100km - 5.4 sec) No faults (that I'm aware of) Nice straight body with clean paintwork Registered and RWC Any questions, please feel free to ask. If you are interested or know of anyone that is, this is the M3 for you. Would love to restore to concourse but the KE25 takes precedence! Heaps more pics available. Located in Brisbane. $27,000
