  1. i really need to invest in a decent camera
  2. One manifold is almost done just have to cut a wedge out of some tube and weld it into place on one part. Sits a little close to the balancer so have to heat and bend out just a fraction for a bit more room. Just cut the pipes off the old damaged pacemakers I had and welded on the pipework from the Buick setup.
  3. thought i better finish the flare off before i put the diff in while its easier to work in there. i removed the flares. and cut bothe gaurds right up as close to the flare as possible leaving small tabs where the rivets are. i then decided it would be easier to cut the inner gaurd out and bend up some new sheeting and welding it in place giving it a nice clean fit over having hammered and welded up crap. i didnt get very far only started on a small section this arvo right where my exhaust is. doing it like this will also allow me to fully block of the section the exhaust goes through from any other part of the car aswell. tig it in nice and flush and just needs trimming back a little to the shape of the guard and a couple more welds on the left of the panel. will come out alot neater in the end.
  4. Tig up thebdiff just then the mounts were only tacked into place. Gave it a little bit of paint was all the paint I had. So couldn't paint the whole thing likeni wanted to. Will try and swap it over with the one in the car after dinner
  5. wish i had of found this thread earlier this is amazing
  6. the week started off pretty damn good. re did the engine mounts from the dodge old gaslesswelded scrap shit mounts the guy i got it off made. made new ones out of old control arms and some 3mm plate and tig welded them to the crossmember used tghe plate to add more side to side strength with the control arms getting mounted at an angle to suit the engine mounts. only picture i got of the mounts was a blurry one of the welds started on the gear box mount. but need to finish cutting the trans tunnel back out to get it sitting in right where i want it. engine sits as far as i possibly can get it. had to trim the lip on the crossmember back and tig it up along it just so the sump wouldnt rub against it. started on getting the fuel lines hooked up to it but managed to get a metal splinter in my finger then rubbed my eye and it stuck in right above my pupil so been at the hospital on and off for a couple days getting that sorted out. pick up the new diff tomorrow. willl get that in next week. cut the drive shaft to suit it. and hook in and try and get it running within a few weeks. also started on the coilovers got one cut down 40mm to suit the shocks i will be running. havnt started on the other.
  7. Was going to buy the new model Jasic 200ac/dc rig that comes put this Friday. Went to my uncles place and he hasn't even touched the one we sold him a year ago which is prettyuch exactly the same so he gave it to me. So scored a $1200 welder for free.
  8. Made a new dump pipe for it and roatated and moved the waste gate over closer to the exhaust pipes for more room gave me a good 4" more clearance
  9. Have to buy some flanges to suit the ecotec and cut and weld one pipe either side to fit it and modify the wastegate placement for more clearance. But other than that I'm pretty stoked on it and how cheap it was
  10. Just fits.have a bit of room to ga back still just have to modify the crossmember to set it back another inch
  11. so ive decided to lose the hilux diff and its dodgy build quality after my ʞ©$ɟup when making it. and will be picking up a r31 diff thats already converted just needs the panhard fixed. so back to four stud for me. and these wheels will most likely end up on the falcon monter truck up at the property if knowone wants em
  12. will have my turbo manifold next weekend. old mans going down and gonna pick it up for me while hes down there. engine is out and old 4k engine mounts have been cut of and in the process of grinding down smooth. will be redoing the v6 engine mounts and getting the engine as far back as possible there is about 3-4 more inches i can get it back to the fire wall but i don't know how far i can go with the ecotec sump will sort that out once i have it pulled out tomorrow.
  13. Tyre isn't beaded just pushed up to the lip. Looks so tough without any stretch suits it so much better
  14. Picked up some cheap old ford steel wheels today for $25 expecting em to be 14x7 with around a +15 positive offset. Turns out there around a -20 offset. Cheerin
  15. Got offered my old position at work. With a pay rise to good to resist so leaving my apprenticeship that I was struggling with for it. Can't complain there
  16. Had a big clean out at work so I cut some loggers out of some old welder panels. Had a few different variation but decided this was the best one. So now I have boot vents.
  17. will make shit easy for fabbing aswell with it all being fairly even spaced.
  18. yeah that was the first thing i noticed when i got the ecotec.
  19. yeah i know. thats why i have to modify this one to fit. still only having to modify it slightly is alot easier than making up a whole setup. so I'm happy to do so. also the turbo sit right infront of the engine so i will be lengthening the pipe towards one corner for room. again will be fairly basic just cutting out and adding more length.
  20. so didnt get the t25. but have sourced a manifold setup for a buick 6 for a measly $300. its in albury but so gotta leave it at a mates place till december when my old mans going down. will just have to cut and match it to the ecotec not much work really. and will be going with a gt35 instead. so will be starting to collect parts for it.
  21. That's some decent power out of minimal work. The whole going turbo or not just depends if I end up buying this t25 and going from thier. If not I'm not worried and will conintue down the N/A path.
  22. only going with the t25 because i can get it for $60 and will just be for setup purposes really before moving over to a gt35. i know its tiny but its to cheap to pass up on. not sure how much power really havnt looked at similar results people have had but once the engine is built up will aim for around 350hp. which should be failry easily obtainable.
  23. looks like the ecotec will be going single turbo. running very low boost until i pour a little money into. going to try and do this setup for a little $$ as possible found a real cheap garret t25 will start to fab up manifolds tomorrow and tack everything together and then take it into work and tig weld it all up.
