As a few on here know i attended toyotafest this weekend just been, it was an awesome event and i advise anybody that can to go. Its a really relaxed event and the cars where awesome. However, my day sucked, the event was awesome but faaark. First was the drive from bathurst to sydney on 2hrs sleep, then there was the intermittant miss that was traced back to dodgy leads (thanks KEBIN) then, on the trip home i decided 2 pull over and get a little sleep (only 2hrs sleep in the last 30odd hrs makes for some interesting driving). I lay the seat back 2 have 40 winks and sleep for and hr or so. I wake up, go to straighten the seat and drive off and low and behold, the adjustment mechanism is fuxored ;) Cue me driving home the remaining 1.5hrs with no seat back, stiff arse suspension and its pouring rain, not freakin fun!!! Ah, well, at least the car was clean for some of the show when i decided to break out my WD40 polishing techinique (much to peoples enjoyment) and marty and mick picked up some awards. If only they had a "track pig POS with a miss" award, i woulda been a shoe in :) Pics Also, in honour of the show (and coz mick kept bugging me to clean it) i actually put the front back together and fitted the lip ive had for like 2 years, go me! ;)

lol, not enough room on for that list. A heap more suspension work for a start, the whole driveline needs redoing and the body and trim needs attention

bowler is closest, 1 of the 4 he mentioned is it pfft, lotus spec 4 clylinder, a pissy 4 cylinder with that much engine room and a chassis? r u high? :) jokes
-
Ive had a little change of heart on the engine front, this change will pretty much garrantee that this will take a few years to compete as the engine i want is 2 new to be cost effective. I'm not gonna tell what engine it is but i will give 2 hints and i will pay $10 to whoever can guess what I'm thinking of. Its not a 6 cylinder and it is a toyota motor Lets see how good u all are :)
-
Erm... engine bay looks kinda shitty, it may be an SR20 but its just crap looking atm And yes, we NEEEEED a radrollaz track day (when i get a diff that doesnt suck)

Awesome, if it has one i'd really like to get hold of an auto column, and a straight front bar of possible

I was stuffing around with the coilovers i took out of the rear today as i kinda just threw them in a corner and forgot about them since i got my new stuff. wow, i have never seen a shocks as absolutly stuffed as these. on 1 of them the shaft is that bent that it cannot be compressed at all, its just locked solid... AND THATS THE GOOD 1!!! the other one was that bad i actually took a video of how stuffed it was but i can't seem 2 load it onto here its had absolutly no shock absortion effect at all, in fact it was that bad that i could move it up and down its fulls stroke without any resistance at all using 2 fingers. Not only that, but the shaft actually moved side to side aswell. The shaft is about 10mm give or take, and the hole in the top seal was about 15-20mm's so u could wobble it around a heap. I am actually ashamed to say that they come out of my car they are that bad

Awesome

Ok, i went thru all the spares today and i found some cool stuff and some let downs, firstly tho... Kids, if u are taking the tailgate off a ute that has been obviously pulled apart at some point, make sure that you check that the hinges are connected  my foot now hurts a fair bit Now, the pros: i have a decent set of tail lights a heap of cool trim spares a few pieces of chrome and stainless trim that i really needed a decent rear view mirror rego papers an interior light that looks nearly brand new 2 good doors a spare tailgate a heap of spare vents and the like that i can use to fill all the blocked off holes the cons i have no decent front beaver no headlights no grill no dash pad Now coz I'm pretty much unemployed atm an have no money, I'm gonna start restoring all the little bits and pieces and putting them away for when i have the cash to properly start on this thing. Hopefully i'll get a few pics of the rust and dents on the good ute in the next few days

Lol, thanks man, i actually drove a crown ute with a 307 and a 4 speed, yeah it went pretty well :y: I'm hoping to at least get thru some of the parts soon, just organise everything and start restoring little bits and pieces since i have no moneys Also, does anybody know where i can get 2 ute bodies soda blasted cheap? i only want the 2 bodies done, and the better of the 2 coated in a rust preventitive. in nsw? prefferebly central west but i'll travel 2 sydney if the price is right

damn, those dicky seats are way cool, i always thought that one of those wagons, with the later model front, a dickie seat, dumped with a v8 and some nice paint would make a wicked summernats cruiser

I must say, this car has to rate amoungst the stupidist of all time... STUPIDLY AWESOME!!! :P

Whilst the massive wheels do seem like a good idea, its really not as big a car as it looks, its only a little bigger than an xt130 corona so the 20"s are a little over kill. The main plan is to have it looking as period (read: not stock but from the right era) so, stock looking interior (bench seat, column shifted auto etc) stock looking exterior (nice plain colour, all the factory chromework) but modify the f*%k out of the chassis so it handles a little better, stops a whole bunch better, and sits as low as is possible. Engine wise, as ststed above, will be a 350 chev and auto.

Nice, is that the one with the dicky seat in the rear? If so, awesome :) I'm hoping that in the next few weeks i can get into these crowns and start restoring all the little bits and pieces, i havent got the space, time or money to do much else as yet unfortunately. I am in negotiations with the olds about getting my own garage on there property tho which could work out well :P
