well the next question is, which one is better? AE71 or KE70? i have the KE70 gear in the car and a AE71 column in the shed.

sik, also, just as an idea, i recon that a cruise to a south coast beach would be better. more photogenic, easier to find, less traffic and a cruise through kangaroo valley could be included. Plenty of photo spots there the pie shop, little towns etc just a thought.

Me, KE70 from mt panorana and original were there before 10:45 original was there before we were, theres like about 3 different spots that are all classed as palm beach which we checked and there was no-one, I'm not doubting that you were there but seriously man, no directions, no bulk corolla's parked, 3 possible spots that it could have been at and no contact no.s. On top of that all the nice photogenic beaches where pay parking.

I'm guessing on a weekend I'm working :P

fair enough but i drove 1.5hrs to get there and ke70 from mt panorama drove down from bathurst for the shoot. Would have been nice if somebody let us know nothing was happening

i had a little mishap with the beaver, i was putting it in and i broke the head off 1 of the mounting bolts. After a smoke and a little swearing it was decided 2 leave the beaver off till i get a chance 2 fix it properly. don't worry about the yoki sticker, i have more :jamie: Also, shut up, i'll get it done when I'm not poor :P

My dad may be coming aswell he has a nice KE70 p/van. I will probably be coming but i warn you guys, my rolla aint pretty, purposful yes, but pretty no :bash:

For a fun street car i would go an SR, it has more torque and torque = drivability, parts are easy to come by, fits easily, heaps of people have done it so as said above its a slut conversion that is easy 2 get info on. and before anybody says anything about my KE70 having an SR20 i was very close to putting a 13bt in the rolla, as close as having a 13BT half cut in the driveway. In a ke70, a rotor has the exhaust on the wrong side which makes plumbing a pain in the arse, is harder to get in stock unmodified form and in good nick (at the time i bought mine only 1 place in sydney would sell rotors with a warranty and they charged $3500 for a series 5 13BT), the gearboxes are huge and you need to do heaps of sump/crossmember mods to make one fit. Also, the lack of rotary riliability is a crock, build one right and you wont hava any issues. If you have the money a guru roller bearing 2 piece eccentric shaft, nice seals and seperate the rotor face oil supply and the bearing oil supply (ie block off the rotor face supply and run 2 stroke oil in the tank) and have fun :-)

even a magna/360 V6 would be better man (waits for flamage) and a few guys have made them rwd in offroad buggies and the like. I do like the camry idea tho, use a supra box and make it fit, Add some turbos and say goodbye to rear tyres :y:

I'm bringing one of those little sunbeam fire and ice BBQ esky thingos if all else fails. So hope it doesnt rain, i spent 2 days detailing the crown for this cruise. Anybody who pikes is a gurl!! If i spent 2 days detailing over an acre of car and am still willing 2 drive it in the wet then you lot can aswell :)

Finally a cruise thats on my day off, with a bit of luck (read: alot of luck) I'll have at least the shocks in the rolla sorted. If not I'll take the crown and take on the pimpin'/carrying shit duties :(
