  1. are u using a feeder pump to the VL 1, ive got twin VL pumps in mine (SR20de) and when i 1st built it, all was sweet accept when u went on long trips it would always shit fuel pumps or the motor was always starved for fuel. Put a VL lift pump in the tank, problem solved :) I'd try that, costs about $80 bucks from repco for a VL in tank pump from memory and its not hard to rig up, just tap into the wires that are running the external pump and run the into the in tank 1 :jamie: Good Luck, problems like that suck balls :jamie:
  2. Cheap to buy (mostly), cheap to modify, easy to work on, easy to get parts for, cheap to run, tough as nails, look kinda cool... Also, when modified, there is nothing more satisfying than kickin the crap out of something newer, apparently more advanced, and worth a crapload more in my multicoloured, toyota grannies car :)
  3. WHOA!!! Slow down turbo, don't go gettin' all supercharged on me :) :jamie: :jamie: I think what he means is that... a) with a 7M in it it would handle like a wet sponge unless u midmounted it which would cost stupid money, and b) that a 7M is renowned for blowing head gaskets, very poor head bolt spacing I've heard. And since when have 1JZ-GTE's and 1G-GTE's been hard to get, ring around man, SSS Automotive in Girraween usually has heaps of them, 1JZ's anyway
  4. I don't know about the front, but for the rear you cpould probably adapt 1 from an XU-1 style rear spoiler :) like these
  5. I'll b moving back down that way soon and I'm ALWAYS keen for a run :lolcry: I'll keep u posted :y:
  6. Or u could just use the step by step guide 2 putting in a 4age in Engine Conversions. u use a lot of standard parts out of an AE71 so its really not that difficult, 4 me the hardest part would be the wiring (hey I'm italian, i know what i should stay clear from, ELECTRICS)

  11. thanks, I just gotta make the front ones fit under the car now so that it'll pass rego. and I just realised teddy, I've had 3 KE70's, not 2 far behind you :hmm: but I've had an 86 aswell, does that count? :y:
  12. sorry, i havent been on here for a while, I'll post up some pics in the next few days of the front 1/4 for ya.:abuse: I warn you though, they arent a straight fit, you need to flare the front and rear gaurds out a good 20mm min a side to get them to fit. they do look pretty fat but
  13. its gotta b dead front on, if u can get a pic of yours, even if its not complete, that should do coz i only need a basic outline. if it doesnt have bumpers etc. thats cool, i only really need the stone tray, gaurds, lights & grill
  14. That's not as bad as i was ecpecting & the fuel tank is not an issue because I'm going to be running dedicated LPG, i gotta get some work but when i do, methinks I'm gonna need some of your advice :jealous:
  15. send me a dead front on pic of a twinheadlight rolla and i'll do 1 4 u. a pic like this...
  16. thanks man, I'm gonna do a body swap, my mate wants a turbo deisel hilux so hes gonna buy a surf & I'm gonna buy hilux 2wd and where gonna swap bodies
  17. i drew this up using paint this arvo... it was a pain in the ass  hope you all like it
  18. i wanna do the later model one but, is there a huge difference in them also?
  19. I was thinkin of building a surf sometime in the next 12mths, same shape as the 3rd one but not as ghey. the way i look at it, you get electric everything, enough room for my fat ass, and carry space. i wanna put mine on a 2WD chassis, put a lexus V8 in it, a commodore diff, convert it to LPG and maybe lower it on some nice wheels. that way i get the power of the lexus, the comfort & reliability of the hilux bits, the economy of LPG and the touring ratios of the commonwhore in mean commodore  should be much more bearible on long trips and whilst crusin than the rolla
  20. yeah, & u wouldnt believe how much rent money they get for the race weekend, a few of the race teams stay in those houses 4 the week. & u r extremely lucky with the coppa, i once drove past them in my dads rodeo (stock shitbox) on the mountain and they turned around & followed me into town. they don't take any shit up here... much to my displeasure
  21. yeah, but bein the queens bday weekend its pretty hard 2 find a wrecker thats open, especially in bathurst, i will be calling round the wreckers on tuesday but i thought id try my luck here 1st coz i'd rather see 1 of you guys get my hard earned than a cheesy wrecker. and yes, mt panorama is a mad test track, but u are pretty likely 2 get booked if u play to much
