  1. That continues up a short straight into another right hander, followed by another short straight and a little, blind right hand flick into this the most bullshit insane hairpin ive ever seen, ive seen driveways with bigger hairpins that this and if you stuff up this catches you at least you can enjoy a craven a ciggie while you are slowly bleeding to death in your car Will post remaining pics tomorrow, my laptop is slowing dying and silly me forgot a power cable :hmm:
  2. I was in sydney this week and thought i'd drop in at a place i love spending time at which i thought i'd share with you all. Catalina Park Raceway is a wicked little race track in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. Its was used mainly in the 60's and 70's as a sporting car track and a rallycross track. I'll attach an article that will describe the track better than i ever could other than to say visit it. Its a nice little walk and an awesome little piece of aussie motorsports history, just head to katoomba and follow the signs to the aquatic center. On a side note, its in a horrible state and will only get worse due to it being deemed aboriginal land and never really looked after. Now whilst i have no dramas with the aboriginal history of the place, i think it would be fair to keep the track in the condition its in now (ie: not raceworthy but a decent historical place). I wonder if it would be possible or how one would go about getting a group of people together to maintain the place. Any suggestions? Anyway, enough chat, pics! Catalina_Park_Raceway_Article.pdf Article Circuit Map Studebaker racing Start/Finish Post Start/Finish Line Bottom of main straight leading up the hill, to the left is the split off where the dirt rallycross section starts Better View of Dirt split off A bit of sponsorship still there Last few shots are of the straight down to a relatively tight sweeper end of the sweeper, short straight section, small right hander into... This, whilst it doesnt look to severe this hill would be silly fast and there is a massive dip at the bottom up the other side of the hill you come up to a minor right hander into a straight section
  3. Thanks man, well if all goes well (and i can afford to keep it) I'll be putting all thie gear from the sedan into a wagon and making it a little neater and more practical, so slightly softer, A/C, radio etc
  4. I can't believe I'm doing this but I'm seriously considering selling the rolla |blink| :hmm: :D :D ;) :D Whilst I'm really not overly excited about selling it I'm running out of financial options at the moment and its becoming clear that this car is getting less practical for what i need. So, if anybody is interested, make me an offer, if you can't afford more than $6000 don't bother, if i can't make a decent $$$ on this i'll keep it. As is in the thread it has a huge amount of $$$ in the suspension, SR20 etc, the thread will tell you more than anything i can write here. It has rego till june. my no. is 0410 723 395 email [email protected] and can be contacted on here via PM I'm in bathurst but can drive it to sydney if nessecary
  5. Personally, i'd get hold of a T18, AE86 T series or RA40 celica diff. That way all u have to do is change the mounts to suit leaf springs and then you have access to a stronger diff, LSD's different ratios etc
  6. 2 of the other guys live down this way as far as i know :) ke70 from mt panorama (jake) and me (beau) both live in bathurst
  7. xt130 struts, peugeot rotors, LN106 hilux 4 spot calipers and MS65 crown hubs Massive brake upgrade, ford 5 stud and the alignment isnt that far out on a KE30-55
  8. If funds permit i'll be there
  9. ^^^^^agreed only put some nice chrome dress rims on it, those roof racks from before (with period luggage of course) and leave it. Cheap, easy and pimpin' P.S. you cannot pimp properly without fuzzy dice
  10. I havent had any dramas with him, whenever ive ordered bits they have been competitively priced and delivered within a week of ordering
  11. We shall agree to disagree on that one :D Definately not a fan of the minilite prices tho :D
  12. Yes, but i'll be doing them to order, ive done a set for original on here (flat black KE35) and he seems pretty pleased. They arent cheap but i only use the best bits and pieces. PM me if you want a quote
  13. I hate to be picky but we do all know that RS-Watanabe RS8 Type A & B are actually ripoff's of original british minilites right? Probably the king of old school wheels on any old circuit derived car
  14. Sweet To everybody else i am definately going ahead with this stuff, i wont be restricting myself to corollas either. Any old car that needs suspension stuffs will be considered.
  15. how bent is it? any pics?
  16. It will be designed to suit stock or similar steering arms. I say similar as in, similar design (will suit celica, XT130 etc) I was planning on doing some design work on all this stuff this week but i decided 2 roll my ankle instead..... FREAKIN TWICE!!!! in 24 hours no less :P i feel about 80, stupid having 2 use a cane n whatnot (end rant)
  17. Maybe not, where r u located?
  18. Names Beau, i have a Black KE70 SR20de and 2 crown utes live in bathurst
  19. Thanks :jamie: He's now got a set of coilovers and brakes i did aswell *shamefull plug* lol
  20. Well if thats the case i better look into KE10 stuff. Sometime early next year can anybody lend me a KE10 early next year for measurement purposes? That person will get the first setup at cost price.
  21. KE10's are narrow and a pain in the arse to be honest, if there is either A) enough interest or B) u are willing to pay and lend me your KE10 then i will do it. A 1 off will cost but the trade off will be the replacement of everything from the strut tops down, the original setup is to hard to work with. I may be looking into it for someone else so i'll keep u posted on that one
  22. Well for the KE20 stuff I'm gonna need some help from you guys, if someone can give (or can lend) me basically all the suspension mounting points and stuff in the front of the car (crossmember, all the steering components, castor arms, castor arm mounts and lower arms) then i can make everything off that. Also, assuming that most KE20's run different than stock engines of various types I'd have a generic type of engine mount that is similar to the mounts used in mick's (radrollaz) ke30 sedan (a shackle bush) and the mounts that go from the engine to the mounts would have to be fabricated to suit by the owner. Some of the front end stuff could (KE30-70 castor arm assemblies and KE30-55 crossmembers) be made up not to long into the new year but the rear end stuff will take longer as I'm a little strapped for room at the moment.
  23. Hey All, I'm currently toying with the idea of making some affordable suspension parts for KE20-AE86 rolla's, at the moment I'm developing some replacement bushed and rose joint castor arm assemblies for KE20-AE86's that don't have the stock shitty design castor bushes and make changing swaybars a whole lot easier. They will be a straight bolt in item and cost around $400 per car. The idea i have can also be adapted to early dattos, mazda's and anything else that has a similar castor rod design. The second thing I'm thinking about is a bolt in rack and pinion front end for KE20-55 rolla's The third item I'm toying with is bolt in 3-4 link kits for KE20-55 rolla's, the kit can be done with bushes or rose joints and include the 2 lower links, a panard bar, an upper link, coilovers (or at least coils), shocks, and a bolt in frame that it all mounts to. I'm thinking of designing the kit to suit a T series diff. I currently have access to a KE55 sedan for measurements but what i need to know is: are there any differences in the rear floor section between KE30 series and KE50 series sedans, 2 door sedans, coupes, p/vans and station wagons? as above but KE20 series vans/coupes/sedans/etc On top of the above, i can possibly design similar setups for other makes/models/brands/etc If anybody can think of anything else that is worth designing let me know your thoughts Also, if this is in the wrong section i apologise. Beau
  24. I really, really wanted to goto this, unfortunately I'm working all day :S If anybody is going and finds someone selling an MS5x crown front end or even just the beaver, plastics, chromework, bumper and lights can they please get a phone number for me? P.M. me if your going and i'll go into more detail.
  25. Vote 1 for Kevin and Mick wearing full lawn bowls gear
