  1. Heh... He's sent a few txts, I keep sending them back cos it costs him to receive them :D
  2. They blow head gaskets with alarming regularity
  3. TA22 Celica should do the trick
  4. Yep... Astron derivative, originally sold by Mitsubishi to Proton, and now to Great Wall. So not only was it a tragic engine to begin with, but now the Malaysians have fiddled with it, and now the Chinese have found a way to produce it with undoubtedly substandard quality.
  5. They're rubbish. Stock = slow and unrefined. Modified = Thrashy, noisy, and unreliable. The RB20 is an infinitely better engine.
  6. That would be the Opel family II :jamie: For such a diabolically unreliable engine, they sure did shove it in a lot of cars. I was burned by the first Mitsubishi I ever encountered (with the fanTASTIC Astron II engine no less) and in the decades since I've given them countless chances to redeem themselves, but no. Every single one has been garbage.
  7. You don't need a SSN to get a phone you goon... Grab one online from Virgin or someone, mine cost me $100 set up and ready to go, overnight delivery.
  8. GM 3800 Opel/Daewoo family II series (all of them) Nissan RB25 Nissan ZD series diesel oh and everything made by Mitsubishi, with the exception of the 4G63B.
  9. Twilight. My other half read the first two chapters IN the bookstore, walked out and saved herself $30.
  10. Give it time for the novelty to wear off
  11. That slammed wagon makes me think bad thoughts about Teddy's 240 wags, which I also have... :2thumbs: And I think a 1UZ will be in order for the silver swede, as I can see it doing much much towing.
  12. wtf? You already know its a common problem, so just replace the o ring :2thumbs:
  13. And while I'm ranting, WGMG: Anyone who is not in fact my brother, referring to me as such. Some random douchebag called me 'bro' the other day... To which I replied; "Oh are we related? You must be the milkman's son because mum's never mentioned you..." This was met with a very confused and vapid look, not unlike an Irish Setter when you hide its favourite tennis ball and say "where is it" He then laughed with a noise like a fat man makes when you kick him in the stomach, and wandered off. Presumably to get his cap brim straightened, or to find some even skinnier girls jeans to buy.
  14. Of the very little TV I watch, 90% is ABC or SBS Commercial TV is mindless drivel
  15. Leathery wrinkled old hags in Daisy Duke denim cutoffs. *shudder* Ladies, please grow old gracefully... WEAR MORE PANTS
  16. Hlaf the fun of a good night run is picking them out of your teeth when you get home
  17. Dear Top Gear AU Dig UP you idiots Regards, Everyone.
  18. Fear the Volvo... For they will outlive even the roaches when the apocalypse comes. Teddy's brick is case in point... Once we sorted that wee little charging problem out, that dirty blue barge carried itself, an 800kg car trailer, TWO hilux gearboxes, driveshafts and t/cases, two sets of rims + tyres, a pair of seats, all my tools, and a bootful of various other heavy things I'd accumulated down there, 2000 odd f*cking kilometers from the Goldie to Cairns, only stopping for fuel and red bull. Other than the oil leak (which I fixed) it didn't miss a beat.
  19. I don't think he was referring specifically to you mate  I've noticed this as well, especially on the car forums. Some expat Japanese residents seem to think they are more informed about everything pertaining to the Japanese car 'scene' because they happen to live where the car was built. More often than not the exact OPPOSITE is true... As you, xiaolong, would probably know, the car enthusiasts in Japan are in fact a tiny tiny minority of the population... Indeed most Japanese residents regard cars as more of an inconvenience than anything
  20. Two minute noodles :S
  21. Yup  Still have the Tedman's love machine too.... Serving its purpose quite well as a mobile toolbox, parts chaser and towslut :y:
  22. The purchase price to inverse awesomeness ratio is what sends this brick to stratospheric levels of win... $600 :S
  23. This car officially rocks my world. Grandad pimpin. 1985 Volvo 240 GLE (SE) 2.3 Injected 4 speed overdrive auto 15" Alloys LSD Electric everything Tint Leather (cow) covered in lambswool (sheep) Factory 'snowcatcher' floor mats Extra gauge pack ( Outside temp gauge goes down to minus 25 :S ) Flawless paint Bigger brakes than a Landcruiser.., and... THE SEAT BELT RELEASE BUTTONS ARE ILLUMINATED (how cool is that shit) This car drives better and is much more comfortable than some I have driven directly off the showroom floor... And has more interior appointments, better brakes, handles superbly, has more than enough poke, rides like a cloud and is quiet as a mouse at 100kph. No squeaks, no rattles, no leaks. Its 24 years old. Cars like this remind me that once upon a time, cars were built to a standard, not to a budget. I'm keeping it forever.
  24. I agree. Mounting flillies all day does get a little repetitive...
