My laptop runs vista... and guess what? Its dead. BSOD and needs to be nuked. No surprises there... So I'm currently operating on my 5 year old clunker of a desktop, which runs linux and works fine other than the hardware itself just doesn't cut it anymore. I still hate computers.

WGMG, relevant to the above posts Computers. All of them. PC's, Macs, Windows, Linux, the whole f*cken lot. One day, someone is going to invent a computer which is like a K motor. So its a boat (explains the abysmal handling) and you clean it with brasso. The interior looks more like an afterthought... like the designers would really have preferred not to have one at all, but begrudgingly agreed to let some out of work seamstresses assemble the interior but only gave them a roll of vinyl, thumbtacks, and a glue gun to do it with. It was conceived by a dude who was sacked from Pontiac, designed by an Italian, built by the Irish, on a superseded British subframe, has a French engine, and sold to the only people deemed stupid enough to buy it... Americans. It doesn't go fast It doesn't go around corners It doesn't stop It doesn't even pull chicks. Marty McFly was NEVER cool, and you don't want the kinda girls the Doc attracts. Fail.

I think being auto actually helps (for the Lexarse). Toyota autos are quite clever... and very affective at transferring bulk HP to the road without the rear end trying to go faster than the front. :rolla: I did a little experiment in the Chaser not long ago... bypassed the AT ECU to see if I was losing any power through shifts. I was... but dear god... with the AT intellegence turned off it was chirps and tyresmoke. :hmm: A lot of the mega HP Supra guys in Japan are going auto now for exactly that reason.

I have a 2LT in my Surf, and whilst it does struggle to pull 2 tonnes around, it does have mountains of torque. I was toyiing with the idea of repowering it with a 1UZ, until a local deisel fitter I just met took me for a spin in his LN65 ute... Hooooly shit. He has his tuned for 10psi and is making 100 Kilowasps AT THE WHEELS and somewhere close to 400nm... and thats without a cooler. With a cooler he reckons he could up the boost to 12-14psi, and then add LPG injection.... :rolla: It'd be different!

WGMG: Spending all my time reconditioning cars I despise. *(1) Falcons, Commodores, Magnas, Camrys, Lasers, Hyundais..... the list goes on. (1) This leaves me little time and/or motivation to tinker with my own toys. My Chaser is filthy, the Surf needs a service, the Prelude I bought for Mrs. Shades has been ready to go in for rego for weeks... oh and I just received a big box of bits for my E21 323i resto that will probably sit here for a month before I even think about touching the damn car. *sigh*
