I've had several sets done including a very expensive set of japanese 18's and there's been no damage. As stated above its the type and dilution of the acid used... any shop worth their fee will have the ratios right. If not, well... I guess they owe you some wheels :D

Save yourself the heartache and sweat.... Get the tyres removed and drop them off to your local powdercoating/media blasting place to be acid dipped. Doesn't cost much, and the results are perfect. A clean slate to either repaint or polish them up.

Time for a thread resurrection! Its storytime kids :y: The girl I built this car for and I have loooong since parted ways... When we split, she took the car... and proceeded to run it on NON premium fuel (contrary to my express instructions... I think at the time I said to her "This engine runs higher compression and advanced timing, if you don't run at least 95 it will blow up") so two weeks later, it blew up, I got the car back, and she huffed off and bought an AE112. I was pissed... but at least I got my rolla back, so everyone wins :lolcry: SO... The poor thing has been sitting around for over a year after I removed and sold everything useful hanging off the K engine. The rust is coming back with a vengeance... damn tropics. Time to man this little bitch up again with the aid of some twincam testicles. :lolcry: One GZE duly procured... Now if I can just find some TIME, I'll get cracking on this thing.

AWD sedans are quite common in the motherland... They use the same transfer case setup as our AE95's, but the rear end is completely different. (IRS) You could arrange for a chop yard in Japan provide a rear cut and freight it over... that part is relatively easy... then all you'd have to do is find someone who's a bit talented with a welder to cut n shut your shell :y: Big job...
