  1. What can you say.... The man is confident....
  2. Top Stuff. Thanks for that.
  3. Top site, do you know of some good ones on SU's?
  4. You will also need to fabricate up a section of tube for where there the clutch cable goes throught the firewall. The auto models have this blanked off. Manual models have a raise section off the fire wall which enables you to adjust you clutch cable against. Get some one to measure the length of this raise section for you so you can knock up an equivilent. Anthony
  5. From memory they need to be tapped out to M10x1.25
  6. Doh! mine is out of rego and unlikely to be back on the road by then! :drgrim: I assume you wouldn't mind if I tagged along and took some photos/vids?
  7. One more....When I was in the Charlotte (US) they got hit by one of the worst ice storms on record. Got this pic to show the thickness of the ice

  11. I've been giving him heaps about it. Yeah I think locking the rear wheels at that speed scared the crap out of him and didn't do the tyres much good either. very noisy diff. I have seen where they have damaged teeth on the gears but none where they have split the gear housing like this one. Amazin amount of force in this.
  12. Thought you guys might find this one amusing. Just stripped out the diff from my brothers BMW 318i (about an 84 model). When I stripped down the diff there was about 100ml of oil (they are supose to have about 900ml) and all the metal gears had a nice heated blue look to them. Story goes - He was casually driving along at 110km/h and bang - rear wheels lock up! :bash: :y: Followed by a suitably long skid it released again. He was able to drive it for another 30kms with the stereo turned up. Eventual it needed a tow.
  13. yeah gotta get some short ones made up. Thanks for confirming that. I thought they faced the other way, hence I thought I was f@$king it up Anthony
  14. Hi there, I am currently converting the front drums on my ke10 to ke20 discs and getting grease and shit on the computer..... Just wanted to check the location of the calipers in regards to whether they point to the front or to the back of the car when mounted on the backing plate. They do no appear to have enough clearance from the steering arm to mount point to the back of the car. :y: I though the calipers were to mount facing the back of the car but they do not appear to fit. I've searched FAQ and can not find this info! I think they should be like show below, but could someone please confirm I am not screwing this up?? Cheers Anthony
  15. Very neat. I take it the spacer needs to match the additional length of the shaft?
  16. Thanks for that. Thought it was worth checking before buying them.
  17. Hi All, Just wanted to check before I bought a set of front bearings. I have a ke10 with drums on the front. I have a set of ke20 discs backing plates etc.... to do the disc conversion. So question is this - Do I buy a set of ke20 bearings or ke10 or a mixture of both. From what I can see in the catalogue the ke10 and ke20 (for disc front ends) appear to be the same dimensions etc.... :lolcry: Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Anthony
